Participants: cypher - FU Wave125, sad_how - FY Joyride

Navigation equipment: Garmin Oregon 450 and some faith

Moving off from GP Esso time: 12:30AM

Constant speed ~90-100kmh

Stops: Northbound - Machap, R&R Ayer Keroh, Seremban

Southbound - "Somewhere inside KL", R&R Ayer Keroh, Machap (ALMOST!! more later), GP Esso

Must have: Torchlight!

Nice to have: Climbing shoes or boots (Army boots are good, but I was wearing flat-bottomed riding boots...)

Route - NSH to Exit 213 Putra Mahkota, then just follow the road straight. You'll come across a Petronas some distance from the toll booth. Just ahead of the Petronas, the road is UNLIT (!!) Luckily the scooter still got a proper H4 headlight, not like the Wave dunno-what-bulb-worse-than-torchlight. Why I say need some faith? Because it's so dark, you can only look at the GPS screen and hope that the road is still there. For an example, try going Rifle Range road, it's the same. So dark you can't see anything in front.

Follow the road until a T-junction, (I think the road will more or less be lit already) turn right. Keep following the road until the next traffic light, keep left and carry on following the road.

Eventually you'll reach a small town, then there will be a T-junction.

Buy a drink at the coffeeshop at the junction, it has free WiFi too so you can check in on your Facebook :)

At the junction right where the coffeeshop is, turn right. Short distance later, turn left again. I think there's some sign saying "Broga".

Follow the (pretty decent condition) road, you will pass by the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus, after that look out for the Rabbit Farm on the right hand side. Why Rabbit Farm? Because the entrance to Broga is just opposite it. It's easier to look for the rabbit farm than the hill entrance itself :)

Park your bikes there (it's free for bikes), bring your water! Gloves (durian gloves can already) would be nice too.

Torchlight is a must.

We reached the foot of the hill at 6am, there were PLENTY of people there already.

There's only one obvious path up, most likely you won't be the only one there so don't worry about getting lost.

Take your time, it's a really long climb. I think we took 1 hour to clear the forested part. Thankfully (or not) it was cloudy enough that there wasn't really any sunrise to see. But that also means no direct sun, so we got really lucky :)

You'll then reach the first "flat" area. Behind it is this mother of a hill, take your time to climb it because it's only the first of about 3 or 4 steep inclines... pictures don't do it justice.

hill1.jpg

When you reach the top, you'll see another 2-3 "midpoints" before the peak. Take a rest :)

hill2.jpg

I don't know how to describe the rest of the journey, but we took another hour to reach the peak. It ain't over until you see this signboard!

The last bit of slope to get there is really very steep, take your time.

We were too tired to journey back after the ride + climb... spent one night in KL.

Next day... since we managed to make it from Machap to Ayer Keroh on 1 tank of fuel, decided also to skip Pagoh on the way back.

Bad choice...! Wave ran out of fuel about 500 meters from Machap R&R!! Hahahaha.... luckily brought fuel can so just filled it up while all the way alternating between laughing out loud and cursing and swearing :)

Any one wants more pictures or more description, just post here :)

can advise your travelling time?

ie(estimated will do)

GP left at 0000hrs

machap RnR reach at 0100hrs

left machap 0130hrs

reached pagoh RnR at 0230hrs

heard theres a dam and waterfalls nearby. there is also a lookout point ( where u can get the whole view of KL) how long u take to climb broga hill (can breakdown in terms of midpoints? if not total time will do) from the rabbit farm onwards?

I see limbs everywhere on the road

Limbs of strangers i have not met

Are the Roads that vicious ?

Or is it just Dangerous ?

Whatever it is, no one can predict what lies on the roads................

It the beginning of the end, when the Shurangama disappears.............

left GP at 1230hrs, constant speed (full bore, haha) 100kmh (actual is 90kmh I think). didn't really take note of what time reach the rest stops, but I think we were at Seremban at roughly 0500hrs (we did stop quite a while at Machap for whatever reason). should have noted that the wave went in 3.6L (out of 3.7L) of petrol from machap to ayer keroh r&r (NOT the restaurant! it wouldn't have made it)...

not sure about the dam and waterfalls, but too tired from riding+climbing to explore liao. haha.

started climb from foot at 0630 i think, reach first "lookout point" at 0730 or so. nua there for 30 mins before chionging up to the next point. total up+down almost 4 hours including nua time, we left the place at 11+. wanted to head back sg the same day, but too tired so we decided to stay one night in KL.

I think the GPS should have recorded the times, will check when I get back...

You guys could try Guang Pulai

Although the scenary not as great as Broga, Perhaps not much scenary at all ... haha! But its near, just exit Kulai 252 exit

The waterfall (highlight) at Gunang Pulai is awesome! Few tiers to climb

Lastly Gunang Pulai stands at 653m high while Broga hill about 300m high =)
