In Malaysia, most hypermarkets like Giant and Tesco have it.

Singapore, can try NTUC AMK hub, Autobacs (Bukit Batok) or Giant (some outlets).

saw the X1-R oil treatment at KSL Tesco supermarket selling for slightly less then RM50. did a search on this oil and the company CEO claim both USA and Malaysia version is the same.

the MSDS of this product, some of the components of this secret potion is stabilized chlorinated paraffin, proprietary aliphatic ester, proprietary ester, barium petroleum sulfonate, mixture of alkylated diphenyl-amines.

my main questions is why in the world do you need to get these stuffs into your oil especially the main ingredient is chlorinated paraffin? is your choice of oil really so lacking?

chlorinated paraffin work something like a wax. it coat the surface of the engine part and act as extreme pressure additive(EP) and anti-wear(AW). it mainly use in tool cutting oil. in high temperature enviroment like putting it in your crankcase, it will form hydrochloric acid which should be obvious to you why you don't need it in your engine. even so, it does not provide much benefit to engine oil and was mainly used in gear oil. even for gear oil, chlorinated paraffin is generally outdated and not use in this application. it a common ingredient in snake oil. you see barium petroleum sulfonate in x1-r as one of it properties is to prevent rust and corrosion likely for countering the effect of clorinated paraffin.

it also contain some esters and amines which most well design group 4 or 5 synthetic oil should include. in another words, good oil don't need additives and you can't turn cheap oil into motul 300v.

oh... one more thing. don't get too carry away with the NASA logo on x1-r ok? when i brough my nokia phone, i was given a free blue tooth headset with a lamborghini logo on it. it broke down just after 1 month.

lamborghini... yeah righto_O

Now bike engine n not to mention engine oil already so good, so y e need to add addatives ?... Furthermore, KS sporean as u know always change e eo on e average at 5K n some even earlier...

Off topic... After being a true fully syn eo fan, i finally break that mindset n settled for a semi syn eo n to my surprise, its still as smooth at 5k km... So its not bout being stingy but its bout being smart :)

Hmmm.. That's some food for thought. Shall stay away from additives and stick to frequent oil change.
