i see i see.. as you all know that the DS custom front wheel is slimmer den the classic's. so im thinkin of a hybrid DS of custom front and classic back.. :cheeky:

Apparently there are already some XV1900 on the road, saw one in Seng Kang on Sunday. I reckon it was a cruiser outing cuz even Strong Eagle's Valkyrie was there.

 

Went down to HL yesterday, the XV1300A was on display, and very very impressive. Pity the 1900 was not around.

 

For those who wanna differentiate the two, the larger one is air cooled while the 1300 is water cooled. Look out for the radiator, fierce looking.

 

FYI, latest prices as august 2008:

 

XVS400C Dragstar classic 13.7k

XVS1100 Dragstar Classic 17k

XVS1300A Midnight Star 19.6k

XV1900 Midnight Star 25.8k

 

All prices OTR and in S$.

 

But one thing for sure, the pipes....hmmmm.. why won't yamaha just do double slashed pipes? The 2-1 is ...hmmmm....

 

I think Vance and Hines are necessary...

 

Anyway, the XV1900 is like 10k lesser than most HD bikes, that's a lot of money!

 

But then, Stars are Stars and Harleys are Harleys. To each his own.

 

You guys should go to HL to take a look!

 

yeah man, my dad and i are planning to get one.. so i went down there yesterday too.. only saw the XVS1300.. XV1900 is out of stock.. i think the XVS1300 is cool enough but my dad insisted on a XV1900.. so now waiting for the new batch of shipment so we can compare both of them...

 

and i too agree with the 2-1 pipes.. that's why looking for aftermarket ones which are 2-2.. so far have not found any that is made specifically for the 2 Stars.. haiz.. i am thinking.. worse to worse, i might put in screaming eagle pipes.. it shd be able to fit with some help from seng kwang right?? but then it will cost me a bomb....

There's lots of after market pipes if you look hard enough...Just go into google or ebay...Seng Kwang would also help you out....Good luck in your hunt and keep in touch on your updates with the quest of the XV1900...

sure do.. and i realised that its not called midnight star in the States.. its called roadliner(XV1900).. XVS1300 is probably V-star 1300... no wonder i have problems finding the parts for the bike..

ow can seng kwang help with exhaust pipe? can custom they make? anyway, no such thing as road legal pipes for us dragsters huh? the vance and hines cruzer pipes quite nice seh.

How abt emptying the muffler to remove the silencer though mine wasnt done by me. :cheeky: I m still looking for the previous owner of FR4121. haha Can consider the 3-hole drill aso, I suppose 650ccnd.com has the "how-to" sheet. haha

u mention 'remove the silencer'. is the end of ur pipe being cut short in oder to remove the silencer from inside?

 

hw abt u take pic of ur pipe n pm me bro. if it was really done that way, i tink i know how. no need to reply here cos sometimes got mata2 lah.
