Hi all, is it normal for the shaft/final drive to have a loud or audible whining sound when you engine brake? Sorta sounds like the whine of a jet engine before takeoff.

Not sure if it's shaft or the rear wheel. It's there during acceleration, but very soft. Louder when I let go of throttle and not there when I clutch in.

Not very sure if it's shaft. U better hope not else will be costly. My bike used to have a *tak tak* sound whenever I freewheel it. But after a few weeks of bochap, the sound just disappear. Haha.

My suggestion is u better send your bike for a check up at your trusted bike shop.

if it disappears when you clutch in, you could be listening to the engines whirring instead. how long have you been riding the bike?

Go to k&n website and search for part# of your dragstar. Then go eBay and amazon to compare the prices. I find it cheaper this way. 😉

I need to fix side panniers on my Dragstar 400 classic.

 

May I know if hepco junior series or givi can fit onto the bike?

If not, which other brand can? Can't get saddle bags or other types because I need a heavy duty one for the stuff that I need to carry.

Maybe gasket leak? If yes just replace the gasket. My guessing only.

If only gasket then it won't be costly. Maybe less than $50. Eo can be reused if it's still quite new. Else just fix the gasket during your next eo change.

I no longer riding dragstar. But the furthest I went with my ex dragstar is to desaru. As long as your dragstar is well maintained, I don think there is problem traveling up to kl. u just need to monitor the eo level becuz oil leakage is quite a common issue in dragstar. 120kmph is quite fine. Top speed is 140kmph but I feel the bike is overstressed.
