I Will Not Buy From LIM AH BOY or REGINA

Seems that it's pretty common that when I ask them for a helmet, they will make me wait for quite some time and then product something that is totally not the one I've asked for.

Yet the most intrigue thing is how the staff like to then try to pull you back in by stuffing other product into your face.

 

Where the helmet are source from? Only God knows. But for sure I know that many of their helmet are actually not suited for the road.

So might as well try my luck with helmet boys, chong aik.. even the shop directly opposite regina to try my luck. Least I know the nolan I brought speaks Italia for sure.

They do have alot of carlberg and AGV stocked right behind the shop.. Was watching them move it some other time ago (a month?) while making one set of keys and saw the boxes were super dusty.

I guess the killing season is coming.

bought a helmet there once. and I ask for the receipt, I wait like 30mins for the receipt and the guy was writing down all the nets payment of his previous sales, and finally I gave up. Never went there ever since.

LAB sure got their own hardcore customers who always patronize them. and nowadays i see new riders also want to buy something straight away standard answer "go ah boy."

Hehe... Same as what I would do. Anyway, I stopped going there since 2008 after they sold me a fake OGK FF4 @$180 and told me it was original... Glad I stopped going there... Found out that there're more options available at other shops like motoworld, g-max race performance... All originals... Just got a komine glove from motoworld... But I think I bought a size too small... -.- too bad cant change cos I did not keep the cardboard that the gloves were attached to... But wth, it's a komine!

hi, noob here looking for advice: i think i bot my AGV helmet from LAB, sponge is quite tight around my head and ears.

 

is that normal? i understand its safer to have a more secure and thick sponge but i would rather compromise abit for comfort.

 

anywhere has a wide range of nice helmets and does not rip noobs off? budget wise not big an issue.

 

also, i heard that tinted visors are not allowed? but ive seen ppl wear it on the road, they buy from JB ah?

It's supposed to be fitting, not tight. Maybe u bought a size too small. Tinted visors will get u summon by TP and LTA every time they see u. Singapore they do sell tinted visors. U wan helmets can try motoworld, they sell nice and original helmets... How much u bought your AGV for?

cant remember, it was 2 years back. few hundred dollars if i recall.

 

can u listen to mp3 while riding? legally and practically speaking? my AGV helmet abit tight to put it in. and seems pretty dangerous to listen to music and ride bike.

You have just answered your own question. Don't think its legal to listen to mp3 while riding as it is very dangerous. But then, they are still riders who listens while riding thus it all boils down to your mindset.

No la its legal, there is no law saying u cannot. Dangerous? ok la.. I think better than car drivers who are locker inside their aircon/air tight capsule while listening to radio and talking to passengers. U all go touring also wear ear plug mah..

Went over to ah boy.. Told the staff I wanna buy evo 959, he said hav.. Need to go store take, why not u buy ozi, it the same.. I told him I prefer evo 959.. He reply ok, need to go take lor but he jux stand there n show no intention of going to take.. Piss off and walk off..

My qns is why they keep saying they hav it but refuse to take it out to sell but keep asking me to buy ozi when I alre show no interest in it?!?!?!

Maybe no stock for the evo thus asked you to purchase the ozi instead. Or maybe they cant be bothered. haaha.

Why not go to motoworld and get a HJC full face helmet at the same price... 2 for $200... Ozi and rs959 also about $100 each. Full face helmet more hot, but it helps protect your jaws and teeth in the event of accident happening... Trust me, u wouldn't enjoy having a gap in the front and a broken jaw.. Can't eat meat and those hard food for 1-3 years depending on how serious it is... I know, because I've experienced it myself... I don't enjoy it...

I went to there to get a nolan helmet but the seller kept pushing and insisting me to buy another brand of helmet. He took out a damage nolan and start comparing and said what i will regret if i got that one. In the end I didnt buy any from them. I really dont like the other brand design that they are offering. I went to another shop to get the nolan. Have to pay a lil more tgan what lab offered but im satisfied and im loving it without any problem.
