theres a white patch at the lower center of the screen. this is a lenovo t400 laptop. it is a 4 year old lap top with 5 years warranty.

i have not damaged or dropped the lap top before thus i don't know what caused this.

i have uploaded a few photos with different colour backgrounds..

my questions are 1) What is that white patch? 2) do you think its covered by warranty?

photo 1.jpgphoto 2.jpgphoto 3.jpgphoto.jpg

as you can see.. its the most visible on a white background.. and the most not visible on a black background

Could be something heavy was placed on that spot or laptop has squeezed something at that spot.

So long as your laptop does not have any external damage (i.e. bumps, big scratches...), bring it back to the service center and tell them that this discolouration is affecting your work.

It's white spot.. like the dead cell that cannot project the actual screen color. At times it can be black spot.

If it is under 5 years warranty, then you should quickly go and fix that, because LCD is not cheap to replace if you have to fork up your own pocket.
