i just got a 30GB 1.5mbps Broadband on Mobile sim card from Singtel.

 

if i buy a USB dongle i will be able to insert the sim card into the USB dongle and surf internet on my lap top right?

 

do i have to cut the sim card or anything?

 

what kind of USB dongle is good and where i can buy one? will the type of USB dongle determine my internet speed on laptop?

Yes u can surf with usb dongle.

 

so far i see internet dongles r all normal sim. Maybe on e market there r small sim dongle but not seen by me yet. ^^

 

if u really wan o buy a small sim dongle (provided they exist) u can call up singtel and request for a change. Persuade them to do it out of goodwill. Got chance to waive charges.

 

As for brand and type, this is up to individual preference. Yes some hardware determines e spd so naturally e higher u go e more exp. I use to use huawei and no negative comments but if u google, there r enough negative comments. So no suggestions there.

the internet sim card was given to me free because i signed up for MIO bundle (Internet, TV, home phone)

 

Singtel said if i don't want the internet sim and i want it to be a dongle i will have to pay a monthly subscription fee. i forgot what was the amount, but i think its $5-$7 every month?

 

lets say if its $6 every month, i will have to pay $144 ($6 X 24 months). its so not worth it

Can buy USB dongle, should be normal sim size. Alternatively, use with a 3G tablet would be better.
