Dear fellow bikers,

I'm getting a brand new bike very soon. After doing a research on-line, I have narrowed down between these 2 bikes (2012 Suzuki GSR 750 & Triumph Street Triple R) They are both priced quite similar. I will usually use the bike as a daily commuter and occasion weekend trip up north. There's a likelihood I will also install a side panniers to the bike too as I need to carry laptops & other small items around.

Assist me on which is more of a practical bike to be ridden in our SG roads and if you were me, which one will you choose? Need your inputs and opinions on these 2 bikes.

Thanks in advanced & Best Regards.

gsr750 from the reviews is a damn good bike for day to day and fc is great for going up north too. and i believe spore only brings in the abs version, thats great. more value for money. but to an extend some say its boring. even though gsr750 engine derive from the gsx750, its heavily detuned for more low and mid end power. street triple is more fun to ride due to its superb handling and engine. taken from the daytona, tuned to have more linear delivery . but parts not as cheap.

im eyeing these 2 bikes too and so far these are the general review i got.

GSR seems more popular in our local interests but the STR have rave review in the mag. Maybe its a Brit bike. So it can be kinda biased. But, I already have the opportunity to rode both bikes. I smile more when riding the STR. So yeah, thanks for all the replies. The final choice couldnt have come much harder. :)

Have you guys seen the 2013 street triple. no more dual exhaust. looks more like a normal street bike now.

but on the practical side do both model have a individual helmet lock?(like those on the super 4 didnt know which other bike has it...)

Dont you find it a hassle to remove the seat every time you want to lock your helmet to the bike...a box will spoil the look :)
