Hi guys. I will be travelling to north Malaysia during this year end.

Need advice on what brand of riding jackets is suitable. eg. waterproof

I plan to get mesh material, I understand that leathers are expensive.

Anyway is alpinestar textile material waterproof?

mesh jackets won't be waterproof unless it comes with a liner. a lot of different brands to suit your budget. Leather is going to be freaking hot once you slow down in traffic/parking etc.

liner is also hot lo. i remove the liner from my rjay jacket. it last me for about 3 years and still strong.

I ride with mesh jacket and wear a raincoat over it if it rains. Personally can't stand the heat wearing waterproof touring jacket, leather jacket or mesh jacket with inner lining. Remember that anything that is waterproof means its not breathable.

True....I'm using mesh RS Taichi riding jacket with inner-liner, but I removed the inner-liner cos it's too hot to wear even when you travelling at night, even on M'sia NSH. I would put on my RS Taichi raincoat over my mesh jacket when riding in the rain.
