hi all. i found a FQ plate sp from a shop machine price 2.2k. wif my insurance it cos around 2.7 - 2.8k. coe left one yr. is the price still ok? i tink is my insurance x ba.

considering the newpaint about 350 la.. tyre 150 adds to a rebate of 500 means arnd 1.7k for a FQ is still ****ing ex!

how to check if your bike is set to suit what petrol ?? i alway been using 98 but from different pump station.. told by friends not good to mix different stations petrol.. but sometimes juz lazy.. this affect much on the bike??

 

 

overhaul the engine .. the mil will restart to zero again ar? when must one do overhaul for engine?? mine hit like 80k km liao

i bought my FS plate at adpost.. for $1.8k without anything.. but i changed quite afew parts.. and now going for servicing and stuff.. i think its better coz at least all this is you customise yourself.. and u know what u want and learn better.. and its much cheaper than your FQ plate..

 

COE now is $960 ... not worth it buy the bike and change the parts then 1 yr u need to spend close to 1k to renew COE.. end up u can buy a new bike liao.. try visiting ADPOST.. there got cheap bike .. or this forum.. ask a pro along.. helps alot.. last time i anyhow buy coz dun know much bikers.. but well.. its cheap.. so no complain.. try visit forum and pay in 1 large sum ba =) and ask all this pros here for advice. they rulz~

wow.. u really got a bargain for FS bike.. i got mine 2250 lei... a bit ex.. and i changed block.. and may b carb soon..

 

FS plate about 2K now.. but of course, new paint, new tyre or newly overhaul parts will cost more else vice versa..

 

anyway, FQ plate too old like tat.. even FR i oso think old..

 

reading the adpost, hmm.. really many bikes for sale there.. but many no pictures.. here at least can more picture..

piston jam happens when the piston knocks against the block causing scratches/chips on the piston and block. it is possible to start a bike which piston has jam but you have to push start it at pretty fast speed. depends on how badly the piston/block is damaged, you may lose compression which means once the revs go down, your bike will die.

 

piston jam, bring it to a mech to overhaul. don't try to ride it for long distances. or else risk having to change your block as well.

 

the piston is supposed to move smoothly up and down the block. with 2t acting as lubrication.

i think its the same guy joe the man mention. ah khiang from AGL. one of the 2 brothers. they seem very good and have strong knowledge about 2 stroke bikes so i doubt they arent any illogical mechs.

 

SPchoo, i dont even know how my fuel tank look like and how my engine and piston look like untill last week when i did a full servicng at AGL. total noob still. doubt will open myself.. ha

think so as long u dun use anything lower den 95 think the petrol shld be ok ba....cause think all SPs are made for 95 as there is this sticker on the oil tank of my bike, the one i sure most ppl see b4 on original paintworks says "OCTANE95" hehe.....also i not sure bout the rest....but somehow the last time when for the first 1 1/2yr i got my bike was pumping 98\v-power den there was this once i tried 95...somehow feels the bike was slightly stronger den the other two octanes though the vibration also slightly stronger lolz but 1 thing for sure i realise the FC for 95/98 is much better den v-power.....

 

but weirdly....my bike seems to choose petrol...lolz...shell 95 full tank i only run 180+ with reserve but esso/mobil 5000 lolz....run until 230+ with reserve haha thats weird...

 

max types of petrol i ever had in my tank...think three types ba....lolz...first was in shell den after short distance pumped mobil in...lastly b4 leaving JB hahaha....pumped caltex again to the max......but only did that once....

SPC sell to shell , caltex n exxonmobil before they add their so called "stuff" like techron ect and sell it to us.

no no.. u r not right..

 

i worked for exxonmobil refinery.. even its belongs to exxon, but i can see SPC, Shell, Caltex and of course Esso oil truck coming in and out.. SG got many refinery here, SPC got one in Jurong Island, Shell got one in dunno wat island (need to take boat from Harbourfront)

 

Exxonmobil got 2.. 1 in Pioneer and 1 in Jurong Island..

 

i suppose most outside from Exxon and Shell since they r big players.. SPC took over the plant only went BP decide to close their business in SG..

Meridien: please go chagne your engine oil. 30RM for semi syn 2-stroke gear box oil at xing hock. or just go to your friendly SG workshop and change a semi syn oil from a reputable brand. i would go for either motul or maxima.

then i guess you can go to a mech to check your clutch plates and your gear box. maybe clutch cable spoilt alr?
