Max gear oil, nonono! like what the bro said, hard to kick N. and very noisy in kicking gear. I changed to that cause a bikeshop mech say good for sp. But today the planet's mech say is a nono for sp to use that. That is for rs125. And really smoother alot. (:

 

there is 2 kind of gear oil leh

 

ya i use before motul gearoil.recommend by xi fu last time,i use in my sp last time quite ok.

aiyo. just change lor.

 

if dont like, drain and change again lor.

that is if you got $$ and hiam about the oil you using.

 

else use a bit longer then change when time is up or you dulan.

 

actually Motul Gearoil oso like experiencing problems on my last service..

 

just changed engine oil after run in about one month ago.. then after 1 week already abit hard to kick down/up past neutral liao..

 

last friday just went to change again.. lol.. so much smoother!! :thumb:

Driving center teach mi dun kick to neutral when stopping. Den i listen until now ma... From my 2B - 2 also like this do. Habit already. hehehe~

Wah si beh confusing lol.. some say good some say bad.. anyway i just changed for blythe's nsr.. feels ok to me. I wanted motul one instead but the shop i frequent nv bring in motul.

 

I worst ah lol.. those traffic light i know very long one is neutral then roll to stop.. off engine lol.. before green light start engine again! haha

Yup ... Tried lots of EO before - Mineral, Castrol, Motul 5100/7100/300V ... Found Motul Gearbox Oil to be the best - easy to change gears, but dun kick too hard to avoid the sound :)

Hmm not everything in the driving school should be used out there ...

 

ON CHANGING GEARS >>

 

There's no need to clutch in when shifting up - neither should the throttle be closed and then opened. When you clutch in, close throttle, shift, clutch out, open throttle ... Power is wasted!

 

An experienced mech who started out in the "motor xiao" days taught me this. True enough, the bike will be less jerky and without all that unnecessary action, the clutch cable is not stressed as often. When my bike's engine was downed for overhaul - gears intact. No damage.

 

However, use the clutch when shifting down. Heavy engine braking should be avoided! Lousy 2T + Very heavy engine braking = Possibility of Piston Crack. Still recalled having bookmarked this ...

 

what's the meaning of "excessive engine braking"? and anyone mind teachin me the proper way to slow down from high speed?

u got see ppl at dam drag? brake first.. drop gear le blow 1st.. before u let go ur clutch for engine braking.. not so xiong if got blow abit to rev up the rpm..

 

There's a flowery but proper term for this - "bliping" ... Wanna know more ask MC28 bah ... :giddy:

 

BRAKING >>

Driving school teaches 60% front, 40% rear - or 70% front, 30% rear. For normal riding with a stock footrest, this is fine. But with a racing footrest and during roundings - best to go by feeling.

 

It's best to use more of the front brake and use the rear only if necessary, as a support brake. How much of the front to use? By YOUR experience.

 

 

MOVING AND STOPPING >>

 

Clutched in at Gear 1 at traffic lights? No cos things are waiting to overheat! "Check Back" and "Blind Spots"? Of course!

 

There's even more checks that don't require turning your head or looking at the mirrors. Listen for the engine roar of oncoming vehicles. In the day, use shadows to sense if there's a vehicle in the blind spot or tailgating. In the night, look for the presence of headlights shining around you.

 

Rain shelter or overhead bridge ahead? Look out for the "cop on the top" ...

Anw, always use engine brake wont spoilt the gear or clutch plate right.

Cause i always like to enginebrake from very far then slowly roll to traffic light. Save petrol + brakepad. =X
