Hey bro thanks, starting bike is quite okay now,the weak throttle after some blowing of smoke went away,well for the rpm,with choke pull the rpm doesnt really rise,just knocking louder. Hhaa ehh motul, yeah its kinda ex, if can prevent from getting summon guess long run its okay lol ,but will scout for cheaper sometime just not convenient bah. Went down a shop,brought a cover,and ask about the fuel gauge, said to keep track for awhile first.but like u said now base on my mileage liao, 130~current tank,needle barely move from F. Wow these diy i will keeep in mind, not exactly a technical guy, somewad u alrdy can tell lah haha.

Hmm, fuel gauge def spoilt la. U shld take note of mileage n also open yr tank cover c if its really near empty. Expresswy n urban riding mileage is def NT same hor! U said u gt yr bike abt 2mth, so u mus hav top up petrol more than once. So gauge spoilt aft u take over? Or oledi spoilt? Prev owner told u abt it?

 

The DIY stuffs will help u troublesht easier, save $ n prev u Fr kena cheat by mechanic. Takes time to knw more abt bike. I also went thru pay school fees to mechanic to learn doing it. It is a learning stage for new riders.

hey, yeah somewad still okay(nvr kick until siao haha :D), just gotta rev the throttle after open the choke, after awhile its smooth liao, im used to the kick starter liao bah prob the choke is old(the prev owner told me to pull choke,start and push back,tats all it took for him to work the bike). My total mileage hmm 28k or 29k~,prev owner did an overhaul earlier of the yr.Ehh I took over lik 3 weeks back ar, he gave me 3/4tank, so actually top up 1 tank nia lol, kinda sux it happen when i top up, but i think i shall monitor longer, prob the float stuck,its creeping alittle from F.

 

Been goin thru cte almost every ride(my hus area surrounded by CTE and PIE lol), yep drain more on E/way if i dun control my throttle.

 

So far the bike its doing alrite, once its warm,(nvr rev pass 8k)thus far only the fuel gauge,maybe the temp gauge(nvr see any needle movement,prob its a good thing bah for that), DIY knowledge will really take some experience. Thanks will do, still ned alot getting used to the road traffic.

When travel on hot weather on expway, my temp gauge needle at centre. Cold weather abt 1/3 of gauge. But aft travelling some dist n ND to engage low gear 1-3gear for example stuck in jam or find parking lots, yr needle will b 3/4. U can feel yr engine hot. If by tis scenario, yr needle don show any movement, most likely yr needle temp gauge konk Liao. Temp gauge impt when I travel low gear in finding Carpark lots n in jam. If I c it still goin up, I will stop my bike n rest for 5min. U don wan to overheat yr engine, else disaster lo. When Las time u chg yr coolant also will affect yr engine heat dissipation.

 

Ok, hope u hav fun wif tis bike. Do yr maint reg n periodic checks when necessary. Ride safe.

I'm a new rider, just sent my bike for full servicing @ Bikeworkz, will be collecting it tomorrow. Anyone here could recommend me a few shops to check out pricing for for fairings & rims spray work @ a reasonable price ? I'm looking to spray a single colour (FZ 16 Red 2012/2013) & Spray my Rims black (spokes only). I was quoted by a shop $380 for just the fairing spray work & $100 for each rim is it reasonable ? Thanks in advance.

Hahah yep shuld be ar 1-2 round told by a rider frend, but how to tell ar??can check by looking? ohh haven riding under adverse condition yet, only at night lol, fuel gauge somehow move more ar, tmd if nxt 2 tank still same prob really ned to fix it liao. hmm usually for normal servicing wad do i change? EO maybe new spark plug? and how but lik half yr kind of servicing ar? Thanks

Can't tell the total mileage clocked by look. Normally we look at the age of yr bike. Normally above 10year, mileage will hav gone 1 round or mayb 2. Average mileage is abt 15-20k per year unless owner seldom ride. Which is v seldom. Since u say the prev owner overhaul engine b4, shld b 2 round le. Mine 100k+ still fine. No abnormal sound Fr engine.

 

I normally chg EO every 10k, use fully syn. Spark plugs I chg abt 50-60k. Normal copper ones will do. Coolant also abt 50k. Brake oil abt 40k. Air filter chk condition every 1-2 month aft 1 year. The filter may start to broke into small little pcs. All tis can b done DIY.

 

Other norm visual checks is quite standard la. Chain and brake pad. Lub yr chain n tighten if need. V ez maint for SP or any 2B bikes.

 

If u travel 200km fr full tank oledi, yr fuel gauge needle shld b near "E". If still halfway, or more, yr needle is NT showing correct.

Icic thx..recently my back brake n front brake a bit jam fuel consumption drop to 23/l previously 30..now keep hearing squeaking

 

30? Ur SP top speed 70km/h only?

Ok u must calculate start when u pump petrol copy down ur odometer reading. Pump until just before over flow....the next time u repeat...see how much u need to pump and take diference between the 2 reading. Pump before over flow is to ensure fair test.

The key to good fuel consumption is a good carburetor. Working power valve good 2T, good4T and smooth spinning rims. Good brakes. That's it.

 

1 more thing to add is the rubber seal of the petrol cover might be wear off. So some amt of petrol may hav escape esp for old bikes. Tis happen to my case too.
