I would rank in the following order(best on top and worst at the bottom)

1)CBR 150r

2)FZ150i

3)Pulsar 180/200

4)Daelim x5

The number 1 and 2 are obvious choices because they are honda and yamaha and both bikes have nice power due to high compression ratio and both are light weight. In terms of maintenance also they are the best. But then even the price of these bikes are higher, so its not like you are getting quality for cheap. You are paying the price for it.

Pulsar 180/200 is cheaper to buy, FC is the best in class. Maintainence is very important, not necessarily high, but you need to adhere to the oil change schedule and also the gears is only 5 so you may need to downsize the rear sprocket if you want to cruise on highways without overstressing engine. The biggest positive for this bike is its awesome looks and its heavy 140kgs so very stable on the road. Parts can be easily found at universal motors and pricing is fair, but you cant get Ah Boy kind of prices for this bikes parts.

Daelim bike is better to be avoided, although it is a nice bike, but for some reason the korean bikes, both dealim and hysosung are utter flop in Singapore. They have no resale value, hard to find parts and hard to service at other bikes shops.

i beg to differ. having ridden an x5 for a year plus, it was a damn good workhorse with lil problems. parts wise cka has a ready supply. servicing wise its a matter of what u wanna service. i had an accident with a swift in 2010 and me n pillion badly injured but bike only had a few scratches on the pipe even though it flew as well. i rode for a period of time (6months) without servicing my old x5 and it still rode well. if taken care of, it works wonders and has very good pickup if u know what to mod.

racing in traffic...

I agree with this list. Actually between CBR150 & FZ150i (or R15) it really depends on what TYPE of bike you're really interested in. My fz150i has been great so far. Friends have commented on how smooth it is, FC is definitely great (fuel injection) , can go real far before needing to top up on petrol but I don't think it's as good as pulsar's legendary FC.

As for parts, local shops have them and you can get cheap ones from m'sia. This bike is a lot more popular there. Not much maintenance, the usual. I initially set my mind on getting a pulsar..but it didn't quite do it for me in the end. Maybe it's the brand or the rumours I heard..but most of all I preferred the overall appearance and 'attitude' of the fz150i.

IC, I have no doubt that the bike itself is excellent, its probably very popular and top bike in Korea, but in Singapore, different story. I read in the Daelim thread that even cka dont want to take back daelim bike so that hurts its resale value really badly, imagine agent itself doesnt want to take back the bike. Also on the road I hardly see Daelim bikes. In garage sale also daelim bike resale prices are very low and hard to sell. I think the X5 is 140CC so powerwise it should be ok for 2b class, compared to the older 125CC version.

Yupp, FZ150i is fuss free naked bike, almost nothing to complain about. Except for may be the looks department. But what it lacks in its looks, it makes up with its power, it can easily cruise at 120 speed on the highways and since it is FI it is fuel saving also :)

why arent u considering a fz16? looks wise big n stylish. nt sure on performance though

fz16 is underpowered, mere 14 hp with wide tyres so that will make it sluggish, and only 5 gears, not the best bike for cruising on the highways.
