icic...thanks for the info bro :D. coz now my fjr after i warm up will have dat choked feelin..wonder wads wrong

@Fredd

back to dealer service center much better,

other than dealer service center, i dont think outside bikeshop have enough skill (even time) to do that.

cost will depend your bike model,

i did on my XJ900S around $300-400.(with other service together.)

mostly service swing arm linkage will go do together with thrust clearance check and mid gear service.

:)

Pardon me for my ignorance.

I think STX is V-engine, right? FJR and FZ is inline 4.

Plus a STX versus a FZ1 - one is a 1300cc while one is a 1000cc ride.

So in terms of power wise, we are like not comparing apple-to-apple.

Please do not flame me. I am just a newbie. :)

yup. what u said is true. :) but i think specs wise, fz has higher horsepower than stx, but when i tried it, did not really feel it. i guess power will kick in at top end speeds but really, how fast can u go in singapore or even malaysia. :)

yes, mine did wobble when reach 180km/hr but that is simply due to the top box. u take out top box and make sure u have bridgestone tires, u will have a smooth ride even at high speeds.

OIC. Sorry, I am not very into HP, so didn't know FZ actually has higher HP than the "beast" (STX).

Yes, how fast we can go in SG?

But on Malaysia NSHW, can go quite fast, isn't it? lolz... :cheeky:

I think it may be due to the aerodynamics of the bikes which were designed without a top-box.

My ex-FJR with the top box, will also wobble a little bit if travel > 190km/h, esp when there are strong winds...

But it did wobble violently, when my right side panniers hit the central divider on NSHW when I was negotiating a bend on my way up north to the land of smiles. hahahaha...

I left my two "ding dongs" on NSHW during that near-miss.

I will never forget it, cos I just took a look at my meter and the next thing I know my bike wobbled violently on the road with some stones somemore. The meter reads 219km/hr +/-, close to 220km/h.

When I managed to fight the machine back and stopped at the road shoulder, took out my helmet and my face was white like A4-size paper...

My friend on his Falcon who was leading me up north, saw from his rear-view mirrors that I was no longer in sight, so he slowed down while I managed to catch with him and we stopped at the road shoulders.

I never rode a STX before, so I cannot comment.

But for a FJR, with a top-box which I had, the wobble at 180km/h or 190km/h is not that bad until you cannot managed. But beyond 200+km/h, the whole bike does wobble a little.

I am not sure if the rear box is the real reason behind the wobble or not. Perhaps the box does contributed a little to the wobble.

But I think for most of the bikes (regardless of brand and model), they will wobble once cross the 200km/h or 220km/h mark...

Unless the GL18 Wingers would like to prove me wrong here. heehee...

Bro, actually when it comes to mechanic wise, it is kind of subjective.

Every rider will have their own preferred mechanic to handle their rides.

When I was riding my FJR, I only let Kenny (think his shop is known as Bike 123) service my ride. I heard he moved to somewhere else. I do not know his current address now.

I go to Alex of M0t0rF@ct0r now to service my FZ6N. I believe he is capable enough to handle FJR too.

Cheers. :-)

With due respect to mechanics, mechanic change line to what? Change line to repair cars instead of motorbikes? Or maybe he change line to open motorcycle shops and became his own boss?? :thumb:

hahaha... Why I change my FJR?? Becos I was getting ready to get married, so with the photo package, wedding dinner, and whatnots, I really have to be realistic and have to give up my FJR, cos the monthly instalments were quite taxing for me when I am getting ready for wedding.

So I downgraded to a "lower" cc bike lor. :)

Was aiming for a FZ1 at that time. Then there was this VFR800, quite new-looking.

So my friend was saying why not downgrade to a 800cc, enough liao, plus it is a H0nD@ engine.

So I trade in my FJR quite reluctantly for the 800cc lor... :-)

Quite a regret... But no choice, since cannot go touring, so riding a FJR13 on SG roads will like a "poser" (at least that is what I felt). lolz...

Actually TS, do you often go touring?

If 99.9% of the mileage going to be spent in Sg, then FZ1 will be more than enough.

I used to go north during the initial 1-2 years of FZ1 ownership and it is more than enough, really.

Unless the $$$ you intend to spend is 'spare', then by all means spend it.

Else, you may want to think whether it is better to buy a bike that suits your needs than wants, really. I think we are talking about a difference of 10-15K of a FZ1 over a FJR or STX?

All that power and no where to use. In terms of comfort, if you are like me who spend 1 hour a day on my commute, the FZ1 is fine and comfy enough.

Don't need an 40K armchair on wheels bro. :)

For longer distance rides, the default seat starts to get to you after a 2 hour ride probably. But then, the size of the tank means I stop every 1-2 petrol kiosk to take a break. :)

The FJR has been updated slightly for 2013, FYI.

Actually TS, do you often go touring?

If 99.9% of the mileage going to be spend in Sg, then FZ1 will be more than enough.

I used to go north during the initial 1-2 years of FZ1 ownership and it is more than enough, really.

Unless the $$$ you intend to spend is 'spare', then by all means spend it.

Else, you may want to think whether it is better to buy a bike that suits your needs and wants, really.

Ya understood wat u mean n already is slowly looking for alternative bikes.

My journey from home to work with my current ride sometimes really need at least 45mins. I read up on FZ-1S too. So far it's like a 90% problem free bike leh. Haha

Any info/details on This bike? Or maybe a DRZ400?? :p
