Hey there fellas,

Been overseas for a long time and coming back soon to get a 2A scooter for tpt purposes.

Need some advice on which non-conti models to look for, based on fuel consumption, price and serviceability

since i've been out of the scouting market for so long.

Nothing that fancy, as long as its able to squeeze through traffic, has minimal maintenance

and powerful enough to go up to 180km/h when i'm pissed at rogue drivers! haha

Thanks and much appreciated. cheers!

I guess no scooter with less than 600cc can go up to 180kph....Maybe you should reconsider your spec...

Just kidding with you...

Bascially there are no such perfect scooter.

but you could do some homework, the best jap here are as follows:

1. Silvering 400

2. Tmax 500

3. Burgman 650

(above 3 are probably the most powerful but maintainance is not the least)

3. Majesty 400

4. Burgman 400

5. SYM Maxsym 400

6. Kymco Downtown 300

(above 4 are all single cylinder engine, maintainance is more frenly but lack power at the top end)

If you are going for speed, never get a scooter.

Scooter is more for practicality with huge storage and relax ride. Sometimes just need to face the fact, you cant have everything in one.

Hence for my case i went for "what i actually need instead of what i actually want".

Which eventually I decided on a Silverwing.

Is not a fast scooter and doesnt have the "wow" and admiring outlook. But apparently is reliable, easy to maintain/diy, huge storage, reasonable fc-average 23/l and it has been serving me good.

To add on, a good fc bike with less maintenance and equip with lots of power in it is hardly impossible to find.

If you are looking for speed and practicality for the 2A range, i will recommend you to get a cb400 instead.

Owned a vtec series before and i can say that the power is incredible for it's cc. Good power and comfortable cruising speed at 160km/hr with ease.

Top speed is close to 200km/hr.

That's my share with no obligation :thumb:

:cheer:

Glad to have u in my life : ) Always love one another!

It will wobble like mad at that speed, is not meant to travel at the speed with it's aerodynamic and weight.

2 Weekends ago, I visited the bike shop that sold a second hand Silver Wing.

I start the engine and it really smooth and impressed me.

Had also read a lot of positive news about the bike.

Should be a good Buy !!

*PS: Even a Silver Wing can get you in deep trouble with the speed :)

Golden Wing is even better ..... Kekeke ...

Don't say too soon... later Honda become crazy and come up with a Diamond Wing

Silverwing is good. Maintain it well & it will serve you well. There are a couple of units for sales in the garage sales thread.
