for apple, you have to slowly let the bird get use to it.

for water, you have to observe. i not very sure about cockatiel. but for my budgies, they drink only a little everyday, perhaps only 1 tbsp or so.

Oic.. actually they very selbom drink water, and sometime you will hardly notice if they drink or not.

At first my Budgies doesn't like apple, so I will squeeze a few drops of apple juices on the bird food. They actually like it.

Or you can try stick a slice of apple on the cage and without any food in the cage, eventually when they get hungry, they will chew on the apple :thumb:

Or spray a few bird seeds on a slice of apple, this is to train or tell them that the apple also part of the food.

Hi all, paisei ..paisei..don't know my photo gets so much questions from you all :cheeky:

well, my lovebirds(i got 2) bathe by themself...sometimes you need to disturb them during hot day by spraying water mist from spray bottle...ah ha! they feel shiok....then as times past when hot they will search for water which is their own water tray ..........there you goes....lovebirds bathing. that how it goes......

my green parrot...amazon blue fronted. can talk la...but not well good because i seldom train it(no time). but it's very attached to me...sleep with me at night(tie a wooden stick at my bedroom, let it stand there watch me sleep at night)....

i bathe her myself. easy la...also put a stick in toilet...purposely spray water at it(warm water).....after a feel times, whenever i bring to toilet...it will spreads it wings~~ :cheer:

shake head or knocking and shouting are all parts of communication to the close person..maybe you(especially when you are around)

my amazon only talks/shouts and do funny things when i'm at home...

ohh..i feels that bell are dangerous for birds...

Hi dude, at night you sleep with your bird beside you? that mean you have to close the Window all night and Switch on the Air-con? or you simply just trust your bird dun fly out? Hemm can pls enlightment why the bell is danger to them

It is easy to train your bird to have a close relationship with you, but uptill now I still do not know how to Train a bird to "sh*t" at one particular place only!!

Can anyone care to share how to do that?

Cheers

no need to close window or what la. because my room got use the blind curtain..and anway for these few years i think only less than 4 times it suddenly fall off from the wood'birds do lose balance sometimes i suppose' and woke me up from sleep.

bells?..depending on sizes i think, last time got a guy his parrot died because the bell got stuck...the owner return home to find his bird dead with bell in mouth...

i have friend that keep lovie. It's a myth that they must be kept in pair. They are called birds coz they are very faithful to their partner.

One of the pair will die of sadness coz they are so bonded already.

Lovebirds are tiny birdies which have inquistive nature

They can amused u in anyway =)

However, it's not known to talk. Female are known to whistle better than males.

One cons abt female is they are aggressive when

'pms' mode is on

Females are territorial as well

however, getting a male or female is a 50-50 chance

I also have friends who keep dog n lovie

they get along perfectly well. But u must have time to take it out and play for at least an hour a day. Best to start with a weaned baby.

Hope this helps. Her Lovie Twinkle!!! >>
