Im a new rider barely two months old riding. My bike(wr200) used to be able to kick start real easily, usually 1 to 3 times without the choke. Last month I decided to try cleaning my valve and carb at soon hin at yishun as recommended by my friend. Turns out to be a bad move as

Suay kena one new mec who know nuts about wr200, cleaned it but anyhow fixed back my carburetor which resulted in a major petrol leak from the carb. Lucky rode to my friends house nearby before it leak. Next day pushed my

Bike back and complain about the service and another mech fixed it for me. Now my bike need to kick start multiple times with choke on before it can start. Same problem when change new spark plug. Is this normal after washing valve and carb? I really want my bike to kick start as little times as possible again. What needs to be checked? I'm new and need advice from the rest of y'all thanks

that is not normal. try going to another mech to troubleshoot. explain to him what happen. you can try going to planet at ubi which have a pretty good reputation.

my mech always told me not to clean the carb if there is nothing wrong with the bike when i requested him to do so. generally you only need to clean if repeatively not riding the bike for quite sometime. the petrol in the carb will evapourate leaving deposit in the carb.

2 important elements to start a bike:

1) Electric...to create spark, no or weak spark..no combustion so no start.

2) Fuel..sufficient fule must be drawn into to burn...no fuel no combustion no start..

Other factor like, air mixture, low temperature, dirty or contaminated fuel..these are not major to look into first.

1) Electrical...check?

2) Kick start is weak compared to electric starter in sucking in fuel up ..

Caburator setting become crucial, (orifice set). You can try adjusting the idle and see the result.

And get a qualify mech to check. Choke play with air mixture, I suggest you balace to choke and idel and see the result.
