Hi bros, need some advice from the sexperts here. I noticed my bike's heat gauge will exceed half during pillon riding. Can feel the heat emitting from the upper engine near my thighs. Kinda scaring me cos its abnormal for me. During normal single riding, no issue. Anyone got this prob b4, can troubleshoot?

I would do two things.

No 1. Remove all cloth or things under the seat etc that may interrupt airflow.

No 2. As yours is a water cooled bike, drain the coolant and use distilled water with water wetter. As it runs alot cooler than any other coolant out there.

Here's the vid of my coolant change. I hope it helps.

Cheers

Never happens to me on my CBR150 leh. Guessing it has something to do with your coolant or you're idling a lot in hot areas? The only time when my temp gauge shoots up is when I idle or travel slowly at gear 1 to 3 in traffic jams.

hi all, thanks for the response. i just changed coolant recently in early jan, expensive 1 oso. end up still same prob. but actually its quite harmless. i realise only if pillon riding during jams or in the hot afternoon, my gauge will hit half to 3/4. but once able to cruise at 90-100, it will start to drop.

it should be fine as long as it doesn't reaches the red zone. other then that, it still within the designed operation temperature of the bike. the fan should kick in when the temperature get too hot to regulate things.

as anything in life, prolong expose to extreme temperature will affect the engine parts life which might not be a problem for most as not many keep their bike for so long.
