SHAD SC20 Scooter Bag

News extract from WebBikeWorld.....

It has a single large pocket that can hold a smaller helmet, plus two narrow side pockets that are easy to access.

This is a generic soft bag, without stiffeners. It attaches with provided stick-on anchors and hook-and-loop pads.

Unfortunately, it does not fit the rather unique design of the BMW scooter.

Nothing against the SC20; it's nicely made, simple and rugged and the zippers have an exceptionally smooth feel. But, it doesn't fit the C 650 GT, so it's back to "square one".

The SC20 has a flap on either side towards the front. Each flap has a hook-and-loop section with a stick-on pad. The pad is attached to the scooter and then the flap sticks to the pad with the hook-and-loop.

The bottom of the bag has a strap on either side and at the end of the strap is another pad with hook-and-loop. These pads are designed to stick on to the bottom of the "spine" of the scooter to hold the bag in place

DIY times...... fixed Garmin Zumo 350.

Power source tap direct from 12VDC socket with fuse protection. Threaded screw length too long, getting it replace tomorrow.

Con: Electronic wind-shield cannot be lower to low set-point but who care I'm not using at lowest point.

Hi

What is the damage for routine servicing at PML?

Thanks

Nobody know as from now, all the BMW scooters on the road haven't reached the stage (10 000km) maintenance period.

BMW Scooter Top Case

News extract from WebBikeWorld.....

The BMW scooter top box (aka top case) is expensive, but it's naturally a perfect match for the new C-series scooters.

The top case is made by SHAD for BMW and the molded plastic is thick and strong.

In typical BMW fashion, buying the basic black top case is just the start.

You'll need to add the luggage grid (which can be used with or without the box), the color-matched side panels, the soft luggage case liner and, of course, the keyed lock cylinder to complete the arrangement.

Its 35-liter rated water-resistant capacity is almost all usable and easily swallows a full-face helmet.

hi, am planning to get a C 650 GT

any feedback on this bike please

Below is the reviewed from one of the owner.....

New Owner Report.

I bought the bike without test riding the showroom piece, so i thought i could share some genuine personal comments about the scooter here.

Fuel consumption.

Collected my GT 3 days ago. Travelled for 367km so far on first full tank until reserve light on. And I pump another 11.25 L into it today. I have not care too much of the so-called recommended "run in" by BMW. So my wacky style of riding average speed of 110-130km/h can get the 367km milleage which I think it is rather good for a bike on a small 16L tank.

Riding & Handling

My house to my office is quite far and I have to travel by ECP to AYE every morning, so you know hows the traffic. I have no problem squeezing through all inconsiderate cars that leave only a small channel for me to sandwich through. And I have not even hit the bike's mirror with any cars' side mirror yet. My average squeezing speed is min. 80km/h.

I somehow feel that the bike is very fond in high speed cornering, everytime I get nears to the corner, the bike will just prep for the best lean angle for the fastest speed to pass through that corner, which makes me a very happy rider.

Bike is rather heavy when stationary, guess i will not even try to push it when the engine stop.

Btw, the throttle is very responsive and the pick up is instant.

Wind & noise protection

Wind and noise protection is good only the windshield is raise by 50% up. I will not recomend to ride it without raising the shield. Rain will not wet your trouses while you are on the move, hands are dry too during raining.

Others

The 2 front plastic compartment is somehow filmsy, although they serve the purpose well and waterproof. The LED really look very cool and the only one you have on the road and it attracts envy looks from car owners and other bike owners.

That is all my comments about the scooter so far, but I am really surprise that a 2 cylinders engine didnt produce that kind of vibraation I expect it will. I cant really feel the vibration comparing to the Tmax I rode before that I still can feel vibration although it is well supressed.

My recommendation to buy this scooter is 8/ 10, exemptional value for a BMW badge scooter comparing to other japs marque.

But every 10K maintenance will cost a bomb, saw my friend riding GS per 10k maintenance is around $1.4K ~$1.8K. Going to burn a hole.

Not that scary lah bro ,

10,000km = $332.43

20,000km = $667.18

On my 2012 GSA.
