Rigid SRM2 Lights for the BMW Scooter

These lights are small, bright and virtually indestructible. I have confirmed the first two attributes but will leave the last one for you. I'll let the torture test video on their site speak for itself.

 

I had them installed during the break in service and now have 4 months of night riding experience with them and am well pleased. I have them aimed on the same level as the headlights so I can run them full time without blinding oncoming traffic.

 

I have a pencil beam driving light on the left side to reach down the road and a wide beam on the right side to illuminate deer on the road side. The lights have great reach without being blinding to others like xenon lights. I mounted them on the lip below the headlight with the waterproof activation switch on the left side in front of the glove box release.

 

They draw 16 watts and 1.1 amps each while putting out over 1000 lumens each. At about $150 each, they aren't cheap but they are the best investment I've made for the bike so far. I've attached a couple of pictures of the lights mounted on the bike..."

BMW C650GT Recalled in Canada for Loose Luggage Rack Fasteners

 

Transport Canada announced a recall for the 2013 BMW C650GT scooter because of a problem with its accessory luggage rack mounting.

 

On certain units, the fasteners which secure the luggage rack to the rear of the passenger grab rail may loosen over time. This may lead to the rack, and any cases attached to it, to fall off, potentially striking other vehicles, pedestrians or other objects.

 

The same luggage rack can also be used on the BMW C600 Sport scooter, but it has a different method of attaching than on the C650. The C600 Sport is thus not included in the recall.

 

BMW dealers will install locking nuts and apply a thread-locking compound to the fasteners of the affected units. Dealers will also replace the luggage rack brackets with a stronger component. The Transport Canada recall affects 79 units.

 

No recall has been announced as yet for the U.S. We will provide an update if a similar recall is announced by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

SIDE luggages was what i wanted for my previous suzuki burgman 650 a few years ago. the rack was specially made by a company in NZ. tried emailed them but no answer. i am also thinking of installing side boxes for my x9. can this fix be fixed to it. how about if the scoot is sent for repairs where the mech need to remove the side panels. will it be easy??

Called up speedway & was quoted ard 21.5k to 22.k OTR without insurance after the latest COE. Was quoted by PML sales for 23.5k OTR without insurance with the highline option. Do u need to dropby speedway to get 18k or that was the previous price. Seems like no much diff with agent & PI price if the PI price is as quoted

 

Was told by PML sales that first service is FOC, after which will be $3++ for each time. No stock for the time being, stock (2 blue, 1 sliver) coming by 3rd week of July.
