SYM GTS200 group

For me, I managed to kick start successfully twice . Same as you guys, intention is just to see if it's still working.

 

How I did it:

1) turn on ignition key

2) make sure all headlights are off( if its on, it requires more current hence harder to kick start)

3) make sure your bike is on main stand and press on rear seat lightly to ensure rear tire is touching the ground)

4)kick start. Try it in a nice full swing

 

If just to test out to see if it is working, why not ask yr mech to kick start it next time during your servicing .

Before kick start,need to build up the compression,slowly tap down and up and again tap down gently,once reach the max build up of compression.Give it a full swing kick and can fire right away.NO need to press brake.just hold on to the seat bracket thingy for support.

Problem is kick start in the morning. If I kick start after riding or warm up. No problem. Swee swee (Nicely) fire up. But in the morning. I fire like siao. Even if I use the ignition switch. I need to turn the throttle slightly to fire the engine. Hmm... is that normal also?

Might either need to adjust your throttle cable or carb running lean abit?

 

My bro and mine bike and my neighbour,no need throttle just need to press the start button and it fires up.

Kick start from cold start also can fire right away.

Throttle cable, nothing much I can do with that as I adjust according to spec. The 2mm free play. As for the idle screen, if I adjust it a bit higher, the engine temperature got to 2 bar indication on our pane, the idling will be around 1.7 to 1.8k, which is a bit high. I think.

 

I manage to get the hang of idling without much fluctuation on the RPM shown on the indicator. As for lean adjustment, I will try and see if it could work out as I can only do it once every morning.

i am intending to get either a SYM VS 150 or a HD2 125/200i by the end of the year ( cos bonus come). any suggestion for this town like how much is the machine price? maintenance? Parts cost? 2nd hand where to find? or 1st hand how much is cost? Who are the SYM dealers (besides Mah)?

Tried already, adjusting to lean makes it difficult to start and when the idling comes it at high temperature (2 bar), the rpm hit 2000rpm and refuse to slow down. Did some adjustment today. Making it slightly rich by 1/4 turn. See how it goes.

Brother, no need to worry. The GTS is a great bike. I am personally a fan and I currently owns 2. One year 2005 and theother is my latest 2013. A very friendly bike with owners pocket in mind. Maintenance is simple also. Our issues are unique as we want or at least I want a one kick start up without issue. So it's something technical. Got nothing to do with the normal operating of bike. Cheers !!

anyway to increase the Top Speed 120km/h? Currently full throttle i can go abt 113km/h.

 

I hear ppl say by changing the roller weight will increase top speed but will decrease abit of pick up.

 

any suggestion? Roughly how much to spend?
