Hello everyone,

I recently bought an SYM GTS200 and i'm looking to DIY a handphone mount + USB charger. I've found a product but it comes with a rear mirror mount and a handlebar mount, both of which cannot be fitted onto the SYM GTS200 unless some tinkering is done. Has anyone installed a handphone mount on their GTS200? Need some ideas or advice on this.

Thanks!

Hi, just to share my experience of my service at Future Scootering last month.

I saw their website stating full servicing package for $165. So I went down and checked with them if it is $165 and they told me yes. After that the mechanic took out my clutch and told me it is not the original clutch, so I have to top $26 for the rollers. I was expecting my bill to be $165+$26 = $191. However, when I was going to pay, the bill was $201. They changed their words and told me the service package is $175 and not $175, so I argued with them and even show them the website; they told me the website was not updated. I refused to pay $201 and they finally settled for $191. Today, I checked the website and the price is still stated $165. So becareful when you head there for servicing guys...

i had the same thing!!!!! i also mentioned the website says this amount and she said price on website not updated!!

that a con artist.

Hi, can someone advice, where can i get original parts for GTS200 in singapore? Apprieciate and thanks in advance.

u can try to call lim ah boy and the other shops at those kelantan lane..

you would need to quote part number though.. and part number you can get it from online pfd.

just google for mforce.my (SYM authorized shop) and look for vts 200 catalog. (fyi, gts 200 = singapore, vts 200 = malaysia)

or .. u can just go to mforce in Skudai, JB to buy the parts. if u want them to install for u, please make an appointment first.

you can call them to inquire the price and availability of the parts.

Looking to get a SYM GTS200.

How much does it cost to change the battery? Also what's the average price of a regular/normal servicing?

The seller listed the condition as 7/10. Not too sure if I want to consider getting from this seller.

Yet to test ride the scooter though. My brother rides a SYM GTS200.

the gts 200 batt is the same as the other 2b bike battery in general.

it is a 12v, Self Fill AGM battery, Sealed, Gel, Dry.

get a branded battery (, for reliability.

get those fking cheap battery and u risk killing the bike. (i think mine did bcos of the cheap battery installed by previous owner, that batt may have short circuited and kill the cdi)

Yuasa YTX9-BS (12v, 7ah or 8ah or 9ah) whatever you prefer.

imo, 7ah is good enuf, the more AH (amphere hour) = the battery can hold more charges therefore can give u battery power longer.

simplest way is , think of iphone 5 vs samsung s5 (2,600 mAh vs. 2,800 mAh batt) , then samsung phone will last longer due to greater batt capacity.

but since the bike batt is charged whenever u ride it, it won't matter much on the AH since u arent going camping play beach volleyball with headlights on or you bike charger dead.

or just go over to lim ah boy (@ near kelantan lane), tell them u want a batt for sym gts 200 and they will ask u to buy a branded one. The price is good, no complain here.

u can go online and search for chongaik to see the sell price of the batt.

for servicing, advise u to visit scooter bike shop, just google around. try not to visit non scooter specialist shop UNLESS you know that mechanic is pro in fixing scooter. future scootering has package for sym and its reasonable but make sure u ask them is actual price same as website advertise price?? :) . at least they give u mentos at the counter and u are serve by young gentle lady, not grumpy auntie.

i got this one (u need to find the bolt so u can screw it to the mirror).. it is not the best but at least i don need to keep looking down on my bike while riding. (i use to lift up that compartment and put my phone there for gps, this is dangerous sh1t!)

Thanks milojay, will check it out.

i agree with milojay, kick start it, batt may be spoilt.. don't constantly crank it with the e-starter else u may kill other components.

there are too many other reasons why it does not start with e-starter. (carb, fuel pump, etc.. etc..)

sometimes u may need to live with it due to bike being old and not worth repairing this.
