Welcome back @Bols aka @Bolsacks... still WFH lor... 😂

Love the way your front number plate is mounted. Able to share details on how it's done? Mine is suspended ban the headlamp & speedometer... like your arrangement more.

Thanks! Yes, WFH kinda leave our bikes to dust hence I actually do ride on weekends or whenever I do not need to work overtime and do delivery runs after work for a few hours(I know, feel free to cringe doing deliveroo runs on a svartpilen lol).

As for the license plate mount, the bike dealer (or perhaps KTM) did it for me; as far as I peeked, its basically just zip tied onto the suspension forks. I actually prefer it by the headlamp/speedometer.

I have seen my neighbour's  Ducati Monster and noticed his IU unit is mounted on one of the side of the fork (I shall update this post or post another reply for visuals). My current IU makes it hard to be detectable by the parking sensor. Any place where I can buy that kind of IU mount?

Also yeah, I wonder if everyone here would like to have a meetup one of these days? (ofcourse when the restriction eases)

The bar end mirrors pictured here are the original Husky ones (from Dirtwheel)... IMO, overpriced. If I were to relive the experience, would give the motogadget mirrors a try (https://www.motogadget.com/shop/en/spiegel.html). They look sic.

When positioned above the h/bars, view is almost identical to stock. When placed in this position, some movement is needed to get a good view... went with this orientation anyways as it looks better (yes... guilty) and I still turn my head to check so can live with it.

ooohhhh! I seem, I think i should drop by dirtwheel. besides my husky is due for her 2nd servicing (just hit 2.5k).

I see, mainly my concern actually..glad i took in naked street bikes instead of sportbikes; my physique pains my hip to prostrate while riding.

We all do what we need to for a living... I don't judge. 🙂 At 10mths, my Svart's mileage is 4.5k... more dust than road miles... 😂

Any sound/rattling from just using zip ties? Trouble you for some pictures?

Do post some pics... I have a similar prob... had to relocated from right to the left as the gantry at my home doesn't detect it well... also, the way it 'sticks out' at the h/bar is not too 'slick'. How do the others have it set up? Ref pics would be great.

Sounds like a plan... let's see what phase we get into after this whatever phase that we are in... 😆

Well took some picture though a correction: its actually mounted with a tape adhesive as shown (or perhaps its located between my plate and the suspension) also no rattling sound or anything our of the ordinary:

Took a picture of my neighbour's ducati, here is how he/she set it up:

Notice how the mount is simply screwed to the suspension.

Additional picture for inspiration or simply eye-candy:

Well I do hope our Husky community is more active so we can easily hold a meet up easily. Otherwise, we have to plan in advance..like a month. hahaha!

Similar set-up with mine... the 'silver' bracket is quite an 'eyesore'! hahaha!!!

It is a struggle for me to find a tank bag and even if i do resort to a DIY ones wherein tactical admin pouches (those we use in the army) might not work well..Any suggestions?

Oh... on your question on the tank bag, go with the original. Attaches onto the tank bag mount that comes with the bike using heavy duty magnets. Easy to use and looks slick... only downside is that it's not large.

So earlier today, met a fellow huskybro on a vitpilen 401, he was on another lane across mine (i was on the right most) awaiting green light along Keppel Rd. I noticed from the side of my view was a dude (huskybro) kept starting at me and probably trying to get my attention and as bromantic as it goes, we were starting at each other's tank and gave that nod and gesture with a giggle. I guess thats how rewarding it is to spot a rare pokemon. Sadly no pictures or video...damn! Also his vitpilen was damn! f*cken torque-y!

Seems like we have to experiment and DIY due to lack of availability of accessories..and parts even, like the exhaust. That in question, is it reasonable to even put on a exhaust on 2B, generally?

Ahh yes...I have the same thoughts, i think an orginal husqvarna tank bag might be the best option albeit, overpriced..size doesnt matter (that what she said) for a tankbag.

But if you ever have a chance to get a husky, its has its charm to the point i feel terrible to even use it for delivery runs.

Nice spot! Go get a Vitpilen & complete the collection (black & white arrows)! :)

I've actually reached out the the manufacturers that produce aftermarket exhausts for the 401s but alas, no one has anything for the 200. Most frustratingly, there's actually an Akrapovic slip-on for the 125! 😤

Spent the wet Sunday afternoon messing around the bike... rejigged the number plate like yours and 'platicoated' the IU bracket to black it out.

Hello!

New to the club with a vit401 2018(3weeks old now), still running in, 400km more till the 1st service.

Saw previous post regarding IU hard to detect, got mine mounted near the fork(under the throttle area), so far so good.

For exhaust, maybe u can try approaching the distributor telling them u wanna import n get the cert done but at your cost, they might help u. I had done that previously on my old bike.

Qn, anyone installed any belly pan/skid plate? And any 401 riders finding the exhaust too hot?

@ventus welcome to the club! Vitpilen! *envy*... :) You are making good progress on the running in... 600km in 3 weeks... nice!

Care to share a pic on how the IU was mounted? In the meantime, ride safe!

Here's the photo on how it's mounted, but do note need get the mech to really tighten the screws, there was once I went to workshop to do some stuffs and luckily I noticed 1 screw came off another 1 was hanging loosely.

Thanks for the pics @ventus... let me go investigate... any problems thus far reading the IU by any gantries? I ask as it's rather low & off to the right. I had issues at the place that I stay when the IU was mounted at the right mirror but was resolved when I switched it over to the left.

@Issac nope so far no issues, every gantry I went through were all smooth. I dont think height is any problem, dont see sports car that have low clearance having issue.

But what I think is if the IU is mounted right side and cannot be detected, I can just move my bike position to simulate the IU on the left.

Guess what, my rear signal snapped...unlucky me

Oh no! If it's not the LED type, take this chance to change it... sleeker profile. :)

Mm I though our bikes are all led?

After seeing this, I went to my trusty mech, he used superglue to glue it back hahaha, so my pocket is save from additional $$.

The 200s are LEDs. I thought one of the complaints with the initial 401s were that they were not LEDs... maybe they made a change later on and you got the updated one.

BTW, could you post a pic as to where the IU mount is screwed onto? from this pic, it looks like the lower part of the triple clamp but with a different bolt. Is that the case?

Sorry missed this, yes it's in the triple clamp just below the headlight, need to change to a longer screw n the bracket needs to be bend.

dun mind me asking bros, what made u choose the husky over its ktm cousin? looks or because the brand is more exclusive? are husqvarna more ex or ktm? thnx..

For me, it was the design and the fact that it's rare on the road.

I decided on the Husqvarna over the KTM because from my research the engines (similar on both bikes) are tuned differently. The KTM is tuned more for low end grunt and reviews say it can be quite jerky at low rpms, while the Husq is smoother overall with wider powerband. I opted for the smoother ride. I also think that the design on the husqvarna is a little more refined looking and less garish than the KTM, which suits my personal image better.

Incidentally i did spot another Huskie 200 yesterday while out on a bike ride parked at NSRCC sea sport center in Changi.

Here's a pic of mine... Didn't want to get a rear box, so had to go for panniers instead. Wouldn't mind a rear rack for extra carrying capacity, but cant seem to find one anywhere.
