Awaiting for my TP and already eyeing at motorbikes to motivate me to perform well at test (if only). What was your first bike and why?

TIA

Kawasaki Kips KRR150 (Cuz it looks cool to have a sport bikes back in the days and it doesn't have to bend down too much)

Nope.. I start to look for one after I pass my TP and owned one 3 days later.. hahaha..

Supposed to be the same night but my friend insisted me not to get that bike cuz he find the bike very problematic.. thus we went to another workshop next morning.. then I want to get it on 2nd day.. but workshop say need LTA transfer (which takes another 1 day) then can ride off.. LOL..

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Cool! Thanks for sharing. Would also be good to share if buying direct or shop and if any tips overall what to look for. Cos I don't have any friends that ride and being a female likely to be conned! Hahahaha

Buying direct will usually be better.. but really need someone to tag along.. depending on what bike you choose...

Buying from shop have alot of clause.. and if anything wrong.. they will repair your bike until warranty over,.. I heard of the worse case, they take out bike 1 week, put back shop for 1 month.. (say no spare parts and etc) until 3 months is over then say warranty ended..  Lastly, try not to take financing from shop.. (insurance will be restrictive and alot other clause, best to check clearly)

Bike 2nd hand from shop they might ignore the stuff you mentioned also.. wait until got problem then come back and say.. unless you go to a repair shop (outlook doesn't look clean and nice) and buy from them.. (usually limited opinions also)

Save money and get full cash will be the best ideal.. ;)

Last resort - bank loan also another way..

For a start… look for original paint. Why? Cause if respray… it usually means the bike bwang big time before so… 🙈🙊

most used bikes you’ll want to do a servicing and check by a good mechanic that you trust. So would be good to know someone or a shop near let to your house that is that person.

prepare to spend prob a couple of hundreds to do a once time “renovation”

as for direct or shop. Shops will want profit for sure so you’ll always get better price from direct seller. But there are nice shops you can get bikes from. Loans are pretty high in interest rates and usually they will have insurance deals which u must take.

Make some friends who rides at your work place or something? 😂😂

Both is fine.. but u gotta know how to hear sound to check if the bike is in ok condition or not.. if u test ride n u can hear any weird sound then better dun get it. Cos the engine or any other parts could be failing soon. Need to test out the clutch n gear switching.. n brakes.. check when n how often the bike is serviced. What have they changed n when was the last time they changed anything.. especially the chain n spocket oso.. how often they lube the chains.. a lot of qns u can ask n see how they response to u lor

bike shops... usually don't allow u to test ride? Its considered illegal... cause bike insurance is all by name... not like car... If u go for direct owner if they are nice they prob let you ride around. But do remember if u accidently bump into a car... and you're P-plate... its gg... riding without insurance. You can ask him to ride and u be pillion hehehe... or just ask for him to bring to a mechanic and see if they are willing. If they are confident in their bike its usually no problems.

Wah suddenly when i see you talk about chain and sprocket i remember it was a hard time to clear my wheels last time hahaa... chain lube technology got improve any? i wish it would not be as jia lat as last time... white rim become black... hahahaha

my husb is a car guy so he noes more car stuffs than bike stuffs. he went to took up bike cos i have been bugging him since 2 years back but i end up drop out from CDC n he passed last year. hahahaha now he have to deal with both my bike and car 🤣

depending on the quality of the bike.. if its in very good condition n engine is almost still in good working condition then it is still ok to buy and renew bikes with 1 yr coe left. most bikes has no value. even scrap oso no value. so if its in a trash condition, then it will end up in the trash.

LOL.. not really ba.. Some people really go for outlook? LOL..

If it's a bike owned by me.. then confirm not because buang.. hahaha.. But I also never really go for entire respray.. just sticker combined together until looks like respray..

Agreed.. I spend about 1k for "first renovation"...

Yeah.. I heard of those shops that doesn't allow testing.. and usually.. those are the "black" shops.. LOLOL...

Got improve la.. I chain lube once can last usually 1 month or 2-3 heavy rain.. :)  & no black rim.. but this depends greatly on the amount of lube you spray also... LOL

Depending on bike condition.. I renewed my KRR.. but now NEA say cannot renew anymore.. thus the upgrade.. hopefully the ev-bikes age don't come too fast.. later all bike no sound on the road and it just feels sooooo weird..

I think Yamaha bike dealer doesn't allow test rides ... Oh dear .....

I don't use chain lube/wax anymore. They stick a lot of gunk and takes a lot of effort to clean off ...

Actually, I am waiting for the age of ev ... Quiet, environmentally greener and low pollution, theoretically low maintenance etc ... But too bad it seems govt focus on cars only and nothing about bikes

hahhahaha... Not those official brand new ones la.. I'm referring to those 2nd hand bike shops... 😂

Agreed.. but actually you can ignore de.. I check with bike shops before.. they are usually just sand and wun really damage your chain.. BUT... If you wash off those gunk.. and expose them to the air without chain lube.. they can get rusty very quickly.. (within a day)...

EV = unless all cars change to EV then no choice lor... (I'll be back to the driving centre to get a class 2) hahahahahaha...

Completely agreed.. When I was riding my 2 stroke.. don't even need to horn/high beam... Cuz it's loud by default... LOL...

LOL.. Pop = damage block (if you and your husband is not aware) 😂

The concept of pop is a overly rich mixture of fuel and air.. cause fire from exhaust...

hahahaha... then faster pass and can ride out liaoz..
