Hello,
May I know what would be the import tax and import duty that would be levied by the Singapore Government on an international helmet that I want to purchase from fcmoto.de from Germany.

Thanks in advance.

chargeable by custom import tax..

need to check at custom.gov.sg

meanwhile, you cannot use that helmet in Singapore as well.. cuz it's not PSB approved. (Singapore certify)

similar to COE.. 😂

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Thanks for the suggestion.
As directed, performed an exhaustive search for import duties and taxes on helmets on the customs website.  But unfortunately, couldn't find any information regarding the same 😐
Helmets aren't mentioned in the list of controlled goods. https://www.customs.gov.sg/businesses/importing-goods/controlled-and-prohibited-goods-for-import

Also, I wouldn't be using it in Singapore, I'd be eventually taking the helmet back to India, where I come from.

hi.. sorry for the late replies.

https://www.customs.gov.sg/individuals/going-through-customs/arrivals/declaration-and-payment-of-taxes/

the company that import your goods/helmet will need to declare the value.. if it's more then S$300 then the company will be charged GST/Tax which you will need to pay upon receiving your helmet..

I just saw a video of Indian bikers bringing their bikes over from India and riding back to india.. are you intending to do that? 😏

btw, that's awesome if you are intending to do that! :)

Check with this company if you are intending to do so.

I've seen Singaporean going to this company to apply for all the visa and etc to ride to UK and ship back to Singapore.. (they are still otw to UK) :)

This help a lot. Thank you so much for all the help.
And no, I'd only be flying back to India sometime soon, although I really wish I could ride back to India or to Singapore one day!

Also, could you shed some light on what currency are the products listed on the websites of

  1. Singapore Racing World: https://www.singaporeracingworld.com/
  2. Regina Specialties: https://reginaspecialties.com/

They just use the $ symbol and I'm confused if they're Singapore dollars or the USDs. I even tried to reach out to both of them via mail to confirm the same, but no response yet 😐

Ahhh.. icic..

no prob.. if you have the time/money.. why not,.. :)

Meanwhile, for those 2 websites.. they are in S$.. so you can just go in the store and ask.. since you not using in Singapore.. you can ask if they have any "export" helmets or not.. PSB approved helmet usually cost a little bit more..  :)

bear in mind, their sizes usually not accurate or have all sizes.. so bear in mind before you make your way down.. :)

Email = sometimes they dun reply due to over crowded.. :)

usually we call.. :)

Hey apologies, I've been travelling for a while. This helps me to a great extent. I'd definitely consider making a purchase within Singapore if it works out than considering importing from Europe. Hopefully it works out. Thank you so much @adesmond2 for helping me out with all the queries that I had in mind.
Cheers!
