Nowadays, metal materials are increasingly used in various products, such as laptops, mobile phones, mobile solid state drives (PSSD), LED desk lamps, cameras, etc. The application of metal materials makes products look high-end and textured. The texture reflects the quality of the product, which is as stable as metal, giving people a psychologically noble feeling instead of a cheap feeling, which is more conducive to the improvement of brand value.

Commonly used metal materials include stainless steel, aluminum alloy, pure aluminum profiles, zinc alloy, brass, etc. This article mainly focuses on aluminum and aluminum alloys, introducing several common surface treatment processes used on them.

Aluminum and aluminum alloys have the characteristics of easy processing, rich surface treatment methods, and good visual effects, and are used in many products. I once saw a video explaining how the casing of an Apple laptop is machined from a single piece of aluminum alloy through CNC machining equipment and undergoes multiple surface treatments. The processes involved include CNC milling, polishing, high-gloss milling, wire drawing and other major processes.

For aluminum and aluminum alloys, surface treatments mainly include high-gloss milling/high-gloss cutting, sandblasting, polishing, drawing, anodizing, spraying, etc.

This was an interesting read about the various surface treatment processes used on metal materials like aluminum alloys. It makes sense that applying textures through milling, polishing, etc. helps convey a sense of quality and prestige. I've noticed that subtle in products I own as well. It would be fascinating to see some of these techniques in action, like on a factory tour or machining demonstration. Thanks for sharing your insights - metalworking is really a art as well as science.
