Do people buy new bikes and use for the full 10 years COE?

Recommended Posts

Am thinking of getting a bike and seems like most 2nd hand bikes are only cheaper by a little or roughly same price compared to buying a  new bike and keep it for 10 years even after 3-4 years installment..

Wondering if there are people out there who bought a bike and kept it for the full 10 years and if i should do that or buy a 2nd hand and maybe save 1-2k but after extending COE(which surely will increase again) the cost is roughly the same. Mainly my bike is going to be to be a point A -> B so if i do end up buying a new bike with 3-4 years installment, the bike must be able to last that 10 years hahah

1-2 K = not worth , might as well buy brand new right?

Based on any bike pricing, you divide by 10 years, then count again the remaining years left.

2nd hand bike after COE end = Road Tax will increase up to 50%= 150% of the original price (Need to factor this amount in)

Kindly read thru at least the intro section first before decide to post any comments.... thanks...

Higher end bikes worth it ... small kups or scooters no point as the difference will be easily breakeven by doing some repairs for old small bikes

agreed.. thus quite a fair bit of CL2 riders always go for 1st hand, and they either sold it when COE ending or when they realised it's not the bike they wan to ride for 10 years..

example - not enough power.. FC too high, maintenance fees too high and etc..
