but be careful of your windscreen. the shopowner of unique motor told me thieves will target it. he got buyer came to him with the screen missing. so i might as well sealed the philip screw bits with some super glue.after the glue hardened , the screw driver's bit wouldn't able to remove it. got to apply layer by layer for the glue to harden before applying another layer on top it. if not it will over flow and drips onto your precious windscreen.good luck!:thumb:

I'm not an expert in spark plug condition assessment.

Regarding my friend's FZS600 poor fuel consumption, I was thinking the carburetors settings as the culprit. So does anyone has any comments on the condition on the plugs?

hi,

Foul spark plugs is contributed by a few factors:

1) Carb Settings too rich

2) Air/ Fuel Settings not right

3) EO going to spark plugs (engine kaput liao)

4) Soot buildup over time

this is what i can think of when i encouter with my previous gixxer4 which had plugs problem

you can consider shoei multitec flip up helmet. quieter than arai. and not too heavy until it strain your neck. arai is slightly better in terms of comfort.both are good helmets which i do own both brands.

bro, shoei is quieter than arai? really?

i nvr used a shoei b4 but i know my arai is so damm quiet liao, if i close up all the openings...

Btw the puig tour screen deflect the wind at ur helmet anot? The stock one really quite low like not covered liddat. Read some user comments from other forums they said their touring screen didnt help to cover much as they are tall like 1.8m got such thing meh? Im 1.7m exact wonder does height really matters.

yes bro...

ppl who is taller compared to those who r shorter when using the same height of windshield, there's a difference...

of cus if your legs r longer but your body is shorter, then u can avoid the wind blast! :D

anyway, if u r tall and u wan to avoid the wind blast, go buy a taller windshield and slightly bend ur head down will do...

for me, i ride up till 180km/hr with my body still upright and i'm 1.82m tall...

it's still works fine for me... :thumb:

i installed the rubber tubing for the edge of the screen for better protection.in case something hit the edge, it might crack the screen. with the rubber tubing,it helps to absorb some of the impact. but without the tubing it actually looks sleeker.:p. it definitely worths upgrading to this puig windscreen.:thumb:

hmmm? rubber tubing?

is it something like those fellows who put this lining onto their fairing bikes but in this case it is made of rubber one?

like those you find in aftermarket windshields?

Ok, so ur saying the plug's condition is fouled? Maybe I'll try to check his carb settings the next time round.... Thanx!

yeap. Plugs can last +/- 20,000km (ive tried it and manual recommendation) with the stock settings.

if the carbs is the cause, it may be cause its set to too rich...

Johor folk welcome fuel cap ruling, others feel 20 litres not enough

By FARIK ZOLKEPLI and AUSTIN CAMOENS

JOHOR BARU: Singapore-registered vehicles have been exempted from the 20-litre cap, a move that has been welcomed by various quarters here.

Johor Baru MP Datuk Shahrir Samad said it was an excellent decision as the ruling allowing foreigners to buy only 20 litres of petrol within 50km of the border was impractical.

“It would have caused congestions at the Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) and the Second Link,” said the former Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister.

State Ministry of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism director Che Halim Abd Rahman confirmed the exemption.

Singaporean Patrick Ng, 56, said even if the ruling had been implemented, it would not have affected most Singaporeans travelling to Johor.

In Bukit Kayu Hitam, the 20-litre ruling received mixed reactions from motorists through the Malaysia-Thai border.

Sutham Charchan, 68, a retired bus driver from Haadyai, said he was not concerned as long as he could purchase fuel anywhere.

Housewife Siti Aishah Abdullah, 39, however, complained that 20 litres was too little for her to commute from Haadyai to her house, saying: “By the time I reach my house, I have to fill petrol again.”

Meanwhile, Bernama reported that a petrol kiosk operator here was the first offender of the 20-litre ruling.

Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry’s Kedah enforcement chief, Suhaimi Mat Sari said offenders could be fined up to RM100,000 or three years’ jail or both while kiosk operators could be fined RM250,000 and have their licence revoked.
