To the rider on a silver FZ6 along Still Rd just now around 2 pm plus... FZ9XX... just want to say, "Hello"... in case you're here. Didn't notice what bike u were riding until u rode off in front of me. Normally, I only look in front of me when stopped at the traffic lights... scared people jio me, or else think I arrogant if I look at them.

 

Anyway, was down at Mah to check out the beautiful 05 CBR1000RR... whoo... $22k plus... Riding posture also very terok. Think I stick to Fazer for a while le.:sweat: comfortable... great at traffic jams... guess shouldn't ask for too much.:cheeky:

so fast looking for other bikes liao... yr previous owner upgraded to rr4 after 10mths...

Yah... his bike very beautiful, just love that solid black look... that's why I also very gian. Was hoping he will sell his, but sounds to me he's still very much in love with it, and also, I think not many people sell the top-end bikes after just 1 year.

 

New one costs so much... have to cough out at least another $10 k plus, and still got car to support... piangz... even the bike shop told me not to change!! HAHAHA

sigh... so many fz6 owners upgrade... makes fz6 aspirers wonder if this is a sucky bike to get...

I've saw this FZ9XX grey FZ6 rider also along Eunos Link near Motoworld, but it's on 26Apr. If I'm not wrong, he has just got his tank bra on that day:smile: Well, just wanna say a very nice bike you have & a good choice of colour :lol:

Well, I think it all depends on the rider & the rider's choice in what he wants in a bike. Except for the front brake calipers, front suspension and the lack of mid-range power, everything seems to be good enough :smile:

In my humble opinion, not really a sucky bike... but I think anyone who rides any of the Fazers belongs to a category of riders who enjoy riding and so will always be looking out to try different bikes.

 

That said, I truly like this bike. Except for a very few shortcomings, it's a great bike.

 

Positives (all bros know, but advertise for any non-Fazer riders reading this thread):

- well-balanced,

- straight bars, easy handling,

- great cruising on the highway,

- usesful screen if you're not too tall,

- good upright comfortable riding posture and sufficient legroom,

- good ground clearance over humps,

- great for tight traffic situations - easy to manoeuvre, narrow enough to squeeze,

- decent consumption,

- looks modern and fairly well-designed,

- good mirrors,

- great for pillion,

- underseat exhaust (can be negative for some people),

- centrestand,

- looks nice with box - either topbox or side,

- EFI is smooth,

- 3rd gear and higher can feel the engine really pull.

 

Negatives:

- suspension,

- brakes (as someone mentioned), but seems ok to me,

- mid-range (a let down, but this bike needs to be revved to make it fun),

- sound not fierce enough.

- a little tall (for short people like me).

- (you can see I'm just being very petty... actually very few faults with this bike).

 

I think many people will be very happy riding this bike. For me, just want to try something else after a while.:cheeky: But need to weigh all the costs vs fun factor very carefully. Keep upgrading really burns a hole in the pocket.:cry:

hi sf owner,

regarding the fault above, can u elaborate more..

- suspension too hard...too soft....any ways to rectify...

but i thought u say over humps ok...so wat wrong with suspension

- wat abt the brakes..

-mid-range is 2-3 gear huh...need to really trottle in order to got it running???

 

hope to know more...coz thinking wan to get FZ6 anot.=)

R the faults above same for FZ1 as well..

 

is Fz1 going to b a better choice??
