so hw's the bike on your first day? care to comment

I haven't rode much, just rode it home after collecting, quite tired today actually. Well, I guess it is "newbie" friendly except the seat height a bit high for me, must tip toe. This is my first motorcycle...hee hee, I have been riding x9 scooty in the past.

I think I moved off in 2nd gear just now....hee hee...must revise how to change gear properly...

Hi there ,

Will like to check with u guys , attached 2 side boxes for FZ1 (FAZER 1000) , can it take the speed of about 200 km/hr ?

I got try when i travel with currently honda Vtec Spec 4 (with my 2 side boxes install) to Genting , along on NS highway , i suffer cross wind , when i pass about 160 km/hr , my bike wobbles much .

i looking for a bike which can take high speed and also attached with 2 side boxes ( Honda STX1300 , Honda ST 1100 , Yamaha FJR 1300.)

these bikes come with side panniers and able to handle high speed .

(for now i think Yamaha FJR 1300 can go about 250km/hr .)

I did notice some of Fazer riders around entering Malaysia with side panniers .

for those who install it , did u guys try cruising at the speed about 240km /hr ?

i just want to know the stability when travel high speed as compared to those sports touring bikes like Yamaha FJR 1300 , can it handle as well when tour at high speed .

kindly advise for the Fazers riders cos i thinking of getting a long distance travel bikes.

:bouncefire: :bouncefire:

THANKS

Dont Think ... FEEL the Wind ,Safety is always the first !

i think even if u're on a ST or FJR, u'll still feel the crosswind cos what they refer to as crosswind is the wind blowing directly across the bike or the highway and not those oncoming wind directly from the front. your fairing can shield you from oncoming winds from the front but nt the side. so when a crosswind is blowing, it'll mainly be blowing against either side of your bike. in this case, having a larger surface area on the side will tend to make ur bike wobble more. take for example that day i was crossing the causeway at only 90km/h with a strong crosswind blowing, i can feel the bike wobbling alot. there was a gold wing behind me and his bike was also wobbling due to the crosswind. the rider on the gold wind was beside me at the customs n mention that to me. so even with large fairing, it's pretty useless when u're talking abt crosswinds blowing from the side. anyway, that's my opinion on it. :cheeky:

best way to aviod further wobbling is to slow down when u encounter a strong crosswind.

if u r refering to the forward blowing winds, then it's a different issue, those large fairings on FJR or ST will definitely help to shield n redirect the wind to make your bike more stable as compared to a bike with a smaller fairing or without any fairing.

And also dun forget about the weight of the bike.Fazer compare to FJR are much lighter. For FJR,the bike weight can counter the speed. At high speed it can travel smooth but speed are reduce due to the weight also.

Just some comment.....:cheeky:
