I think the only way to prevent heating up is to ride faster. Congrats on your new ride. Just ride more will do.

Ya see it. In fact, all those who turned up last friday for the chalet saw it too.

Guess which word had this meaning.

1. Any code or set of principles containing different provisions for one group of people than for another, esp. an unwritten code of sexual behavior permitting men more freedom than women.

2. A set of principles permitting greater opportunity or liberty to one than to another, especially the granting of greater sexual freedom to men than to women.

3. A set of principles establishing different provisions for one group than another; also, specifically, allowing men more sexual freedom than women.

Real quick first ride report...

Took the bike out from ASPhoon (Changi) yesterday evening...

Noticed at once that the bike heats/warms up way faster than my previous 05R6. Similarly the bike generally runs hotter (approx 88 to 94 degrees) in street conditions. Perhaps it'll run cooler after my first coolant change and subsequent services. Conversely my previous R6 ran only 80 to 85 degrees.

NOW heres the catch. Though the Fazer's engine temperature runs hotter, it dosen't feel that way compared to the R6... No fairings to trap heat. I'm seriously loving the Fazer more and more everytime I ride it.

Steering even on stock suspension settings without and tweaking feels firm and planted even on uneven bumpy curves unlike the R6. The R6 NEEDS a damper... Silly me jumped the gun and ordered a Hyperpro for me Fazer after 2 prior tankslapping/headshaking incidents on the R6. I guess one can never feel too safe yeah?

Hope to meet and catch up with you guys soon!!!

Congrats on your new bike! Like you, I also find the bike a bit hot, but you'll get used to it... somehow... haha. Mine will hit 100+ sometimes, especially when I'm stuck in heavy traffic, but it's normal.

How much did you pay for the damper? Feel like getting one too...

What a bloody hot day...

Anyone having problems with sweaty stinky helmet syndrome? I'm sweating bucket loads into my X-11... The top piece is removable but the 2 cheekpads (which probably absorb the most of my sweat) seem firmly fixed to the helmet. Can anyone advice on this?

In anycase, as in my earlier post, the FZ1 runs hotter in terms of engine temperature compared to the R6, but certainly does feel that way. I'm pretty immuned to cooked nuts syndrome by now after more than a year on the R6. The FZ1 overheat fan kicks in around 100 degrees, similar to the R6.

The major difference is that the fan in the Fazer does not sound like a bloody jet engine turbine. I've had funny looks from drivers and other riders when the bloody fan on the R6 kicks in... *imagine... WHIRRRRLLLLLL!!!!!!!*

Not a problem on the Fazer. Has anyone attempted handle bar raisers like those offered by SW-Motech? They seem comfy ;-)

The FZ1 uses the 04R1 engine , so it runs hotter . But having ridden the 04R1 b4 , i feel ta the FZ1 still runs cooler . I seldom run the FZ1 abv 100deg unless stuck in city , but will drop to 80deg once on the move . I have ridden it wearing shorts , but its not as unbearable as on the R1 . The heated frame on the r1 on a hot sunny afternoon can try an egg . Maybe try flushing the coolant n change a good one .

Even for the Gen 1 Fazer, the fan kicks in @ 100 degrees.

Cruising @ 140, temp is constant @ 79 during daytime

Cruising @ 160, temp is constant @ 81 during daytime.

Riding in Singapore, always can confirm that the fan is working...

hey everyone,

i want to start a MO to buy socks and underwear...but dont know what will be the price like, cause the retailers have yet to fix a price...cause the underwear and socks will not be here till mid of july.

as above, I have made contact with Wear heng heng socks and underwear pte ltd regarding the said item. Following are the information gathered.

Estimated date of collection: End Jul - Aug (depending on shipment)

Estimated price: about S$8 for recommended retail price. MO price to be confirm (depend on quantity)

Estimated deposit needed to secure order: S$2 per piece ordered

Closing of this MO: 30 Jun (to place order with Wear heng heng socks and underwear pte ltd)

sorry all as i am still lost as to how much the MO should cost cause the retailers is also as lost as I..but it a free world, you can choose not to get involved in this MO, no one forcing you. Choose what you want to wear and how you want to wear it...can wear inside and be a commoner, or wear it outside like the superhero, example, batman, superman, aquaman etc etc

i also believe as mature adults, we enter into agreement with our eyes open (and i have no fine prints in the MO). so if anyone is not comfortable without a price, they are free not to join in the MO. hey, its a free world!

not really...mostly are just home made accessories. I can't afford the aftermarket stuff so, u get this cheaper (so much cheaper infact) alternatives to do stuff for the bike, u basically invent them. its not great, but alrite. The human mind can be quite powerful when u put your heart into something u love.
