all bros out there.....need help on my fz6 04 model....im having this funny rattling sound coming from the engine....the bike also feel heavy n the fuel consumption really sucks....fyi i just bought the bike...have change the tensioner,do the valve clearance and even change the timing chain but still the problem is there....n i only get 280km for my full tank...normal riding in sg road...pls help me....

 

Urm.. know a guy riding same model. His FC is about the same as yours. Also check so many things but cannot figure it out. He's planning to send it in to HL as a last resort... eh, if you find out y, let us know, ya!

just to share, make a bracket see attach, and you can mount it with the original nut

when i got my bike, the mec used a 'ready-make' bracket for my IU.

it's located @ the same position as yrs.

oh, shop is Albert Motors.

280km not inclusive of reserve...coz b4 i buy the bike i did ask 1 fazer rider abt the consumption...he told me ard 380 to 400km...dats y i tot theres sumthing wrong with fuel sensor or sumthing....btw wat is the newTPS means bro?...thks for ur info n reply...

Hi all Fazer lovers out there.

 

Recently I just bought a 03 Fazer 1000 from a bike shop in Changi. Cost me around 9.5K. Is it worth it??

 

Been riding it for a week and I noticed that the fuel consumption is quite high. Top up 16 litres and managed to squeezed abut 200km out of it. Is this normal??

 

Another thing is that when i speed up to around 120km, I can feel the bike vibrate more. Is this normal??

 

Please advice on wats wrong with the bike.

 

Btw the bike comes with a akraprovic slip on.

 

Current mod since I got the bike:

Stebel horn, Motivation sliders (engine only), Blue neon lights for front and back, Refurbish the seat cover and installed a HID headlight system. Spent a total of near $500 already. $$$

 

Future mod will be installing Dyno jet and Broquet fuel pellets.

for the 600, thnk the guys get on average 300-330 before the blinking starts...

There was a general recall for 600 for years 04-05, I think, for TPS replacement.

btw the other day got this one ah beng ride hornet 250 stop beside me at traffic light. look at my bike thean he say "WAH stylo ur exhaust!! which shop u go to modify ? can put underseat one ah pipe? " heart pain siah. then i say this one racing one ah. .then he can still say "i know" then when the light tun green i think he saw my sticker FZ6 then his face paiseh like crazy. i nod and smile but he still down there dun wan to go off first . .hahaha. . .funny ah beng

my FZ6 04 is about 240-260 till reserve ...reserve still can go about 60 + but dunt dare try already ...as for the rattling sound ...does it come on when u hard throttle from low RPM ?

Hi Iskandar... if i'm not wrong your bike is using cab... I suggest to have it service... High consumption could be due rich combustion. Too much fuel goes into the combustion chamber but unable to burn while lead to a lot carbon built up, faulty spark plug and power lost.

16 litre for over 200 km... that is normal.. I've the same bike as yours and I get about 270 to 300 km (mainly on minor road). The road condition and riding style matter. If I travel mainly on expressway and crush average 100 km/h , I could get about 350 km for full tank. However, I've tried crusing at 160 to 180 km/h and I would get less than 200 for 21 litres.. (suck like mad)

Regarding vibration, I think it is normal. But I've been to certain website where they suggested to have the mounting bold and nuts retighten and the engine resit to reduce vibration. Installing damper would also help but damper doesn't cost cheap...

Maybe we can have some kopi and talk more one of these days...

On the whole, fz1 is a great bike combining power, agility and practically.

The gen 2 fazer 1k (06 & above) has a fuel tank of 18 litres while the first gen (05 & below) has a fuel tank of 21 litres. That is why the newer model has lower mileage per tank....

how come onli 260 til reserve?

how i wack in SG (drag from stand-still, 110-120km/hr), i'll still get ard 270-280 til reserve kicks in.

normal riding (changing gear @ 5k, 100-110km/hr), i'll get 300-310km til reserve kicks in.

reserve can last mi another 70km for normal riding.
