Thinking of getting Fazer6. Just wondering, is there such thing as 2008 model. If so, whats the different between 07 model. I hope to put a top box on it. Heard abt sw mototech or something like that for the rack and box. (sorry dont know the exact name). How much will it cost me to get it? Thanks a lot in advance for any replies.

the difference between 2007 and 2008 model is just the cowling part.

2008 revision

The 2008 model is technically unchanged from 2007. The only difference is in appearance of front cowling around headlights, which is now black regardless of motorcycle color. The available colors for 2008 are Raven and Cobalt Blue (Metallic Black and Dark Metallic Purplish Blue in Canada / Midnight Black, Ocean depth and Silver Metallic in Europe). European model 'FZ6 Fazer S2 ABS' has ABS and electronic immobilizer as standard. It is also 5 kg heavier (Dry Weight 191 kg).

Thanks for the info. Now I can breath easy as I shold not have problem fitting rack and top box as I can still follow the 07 model.

Anyone can share some advise on the shop and price for the box?

Thanks.

Looks like SW-Motech crash bars works very well in a crash..Engine practically escaped repairs after the accident!

"I had finally decided on keeping my bike and was gonna start modding it. Got bored at work and took the end cap of the GYTR pipe off and pulled out all the packing just to see what it'd sound like. http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/images/smilies/wow.gif Got a huge grin the first time I started it up and everyone there at the shop loved the new sound.

So, I'm out riding later that night enjoying the warmish weather since it's gonna be cold the next couple weeks. accidentally rolled into 2nd gear a little hard coming out of a turn and ended with the bike straight up (not a wheelie guy) and ended with the bike straight up and over before I could get the rear brake. landed hard on the ass of my bike, then over onto the side hard, with the bike sliding along the pavement with my right leg pinned under it taking up the asphalt. "

Dey,

One of the guys here, Munkyfoot, has the SW-M crashbars. It looks pretty good. But he says that you won't be able to fit in a belly pan after this.

The alternative one, the Givi one, will still be able to do so.

So you go make your decision based on this.

Why would I need a belly pan for? For cosmetic enhancement purpose?

I chose protection over beauty.

Then again, just sharing with fellow Fazer riders since I already installed the frame sliders... and you are not one......

yet :D

K K K.... U just wait.

Anyway, saw your old bike at Racewerks today. All done up nicely. The ironic thing is that it's now in the same color as your new bike. :D

No problem, I'll wait till my FZ1's COE is up before can see your Fazer

Ya I know about that quite some time back. Took them some $$$ to do it up.

And no, the colour is different as FZ1's graphite colour is pretty difficult to replicate by local paint shop.....

Actually the color can replicate quite easily one. Any good car paint shop can do it.

Just goes to show you the quality and willingness of the bike paint shops. 2nd class again?

A question regarding the new 08' fazer600 S2.

Do u guys think its look ugly o_O or cool  with the color appearance (black) of the cowling around the headlight. Seems like its mismatched leh.

Posted

hmmm, slightly mismatched. but so far, we've all been sorta brainwashed with the 1-colour scheme. i think it looks ok though.

***All I have to do is think about me and I have peace of mind***

it boils down to your personal taste. What we like might not be what you like. If you like the colour, just grab it. If you don't just go for the other colour options.
