Hi fellow fazer riders,

Have anyone of you encountered rusts on the inside of the fuel tank?

I am wondering is there is anyway to remove/ prevent the rust. There are some on the metal fuel filler tube opening when I opened up the fuel tank.

Thanks.

U mean at the filler cap portion or on the insides of the tank ? If on the cap , its common , i normally spray a bit of petrol on it during pumping n the rust will go away . Even my 04r1 n f4i had tis problem , so i believe its quite common .

New models of Fazers should have 2 black keys n 1 red master key which is kept by bike shop .

I believe the bike shop is not being honest . Anyway , i have had 2 yamahas n both had the 2 black keys given to me .

So what was recommended?

Seem like BT021 is highly recommended. But not sure if anyone is using Metzeler sportec M3,M1 or Roadtec Z6. Would like to have some feedback or comments. Sorry, if the topic is already covered before. :)

thanks in advance.

Life is like the process of bowel movement. Sometimes you try very hard but what comes out is only gas.

I used the M1 b4 , but its on the 04r1 , the tyre squares odd quite fast n u have to monitor tyre pressures in it . It has great grip , not sure abt mileage it can give cos i sold the bike after roughly running 10k km on it .

Z6 was recommended by many here , but have not used it , so no comments .

I might either change to Pilot rd 2 or M3 soon , after i have recovered .

Anyone here encounted ECU error of error code 18 here b4? I got it after slipping onto a aftermarket exhaust...

Could it be anything related to e EXUP?

Hmm in a simpler way the standard link for a stock exhaust is in this way.

ECU -> Servo Motor -> 'Lamda' sensor -> Exhaust

After i fixed onto my aftermarket exhaust i got no choice but to remove the 'Lamda' sensor as the aftermarket exhaust would not allow a sensor on it. As follows:

ECU ->Servo Motor (with no cables of the 'Lamda' sensor) -> Exhaust

However i get an ECU error (near the neutral light at the speedometer) with a number 18 at my speedometer where my time is supposed to be reflected. I could still start and ride my bike still, but will there be any problem with this in the long run? Anyone encountered this before? And alternatives to take to solve this?

Code 18 means EXUP Servo Motor is stuck

An alternative is to remove the servo motor totally and spend $$ to get Ivan's Servo Motor Eliminator

Where can i get a repair for my servo motor? Or can i do it myself? Open up and unblock the blocked parts... Any further instructions from this diagram as stated above?

I believe nothing's wrong with your servo motor, just the ECU couldn't get any valid signal from the sensor.

You can either find a way to re-install the sensor or totally remove the servo motor using Ivan's Servo Eliminator. There is a free DIY method but you have to search around for it.
