On the topic of boxes. What's the damn deal with mah motors taking forever and a half to get their shipment in? It's been three months since southern placed my order, and the keep extending the dateline when I made my enquiries. My trip is next month, and my box brackets have yet to arrive!

 

Even when it arrives, its my experience that it will take a week for the shipment to clear customs.

 

It's unlikely that the brackets will arrive in time for the trip. I am seriously pissed off now.

 

In fact, if I placed an order now, I think it will arrive on time.

there's a high probability they consolidate the orders...the higher the consolidation, the better the economies of scale...

 

normally shipping transit time dont take so long...even when i ship my 1x20FT to LAX port only take 17 days at most....

 

and custom clearance dont take so long one...2hrs, at most 4hrs can clear the cargo for incoming air shipments...if it comes in a container via sea, it just take 1 day to break the container and deliver the cargo via next working day...

I disagree. My shiping invoice has a difference of 6 days when it arrive at customs, till it reached my door. Problem lies with singpost.

btw if ur harness is fried, u can't even power on / crank start... usually u will have errors or ur bike goes total dead...

Never do headlight switch... It's automatic on when i put my key to on.

Worst case scenario, i strap a duffel bag on my tail with bungee cords, and place essentials in my bagster. Seriously, maybe i should have made an order with chiap lee for sw motech brackets instead. Gah!

 

u still need to wait la... like yatz said, they consolidate all orders from all over the island of SG then order together...

my buddy took 4-5 mths to wait for his givi racks lo... at the last month, then he got an email from mah that the order had been sent and blah blah blah... lol...

Checked my headlight reflector, no melt no crack no brown brown burn marks... Looks like after doing the hazard light, lightbulb, voltmeter, this problem came up...

ur battery level seems slightly low lei... here's mine:

 

power on only > 12.5

while cranking > cannot go below 11.0 (if u really go below 10.0, u r in danger zone le)

idling with headlight on > 13.0

idling with headlight off > 13.5

while riding (charging) with headlight on > 13.5

while riding (charging) with headlight off > 14.0

 

above readings is all +/- 0.2...

 

what brand is your voltmeter btw? did u look at where ur mechanic tap the wires to?

btw u mentioned that u did it at bikewerks right? most likely there should be 3 wires, 1 to earth, 1 to live & 1 to ignition fuse... check if u had the same...

 

try to get a headlight switch and off ur headlights while u r warming up ur bike...

cus u will save some battery power if u do this...

 

also, go for a battery maintenance and monitor on the progress again...

i suspect that your headlight bulbs r draining too much power...

but if u do not have battery issues previously before you installed the bulbs, it should not be the bulbs mah...

 

but of cus if after u install the bulbs then u park at hm or whatever place and ur alarm was activated intensively, ur battery will be affect certainly...

 

perhaps you would like to try replacing back your bulbs to stock and monitor first...

 

after that you could arrange to do a battery maintenance...

Hmmm, okay... Voltmeter doesnt draw much right? How to do battery maintenance? This happen before as last time my bike got once, unable to start due to 3 day never on... then keep crank until the battery almost die x.X! Maybe it's something that's draining the battery veri strongly... hmm
