Hi fellow FZ1 riders,

 

any recommendations for replacement of the FZ1 handgrip? Mine is set to be replaced after nearly 4 years.

I bought a progrip but seems the length is shorter than the stock one.

Prices and purchase locations of recommended item if you have, please.

Been using BMW handgrips. Bought from mteknik, $30-$40 estimation.

to top up from what Yatz86 had mentioned, Top Sellerie also produce good quality tank bra..

 

chain lube, u can get it any where at any bike shops, even at LAB, even at Thailand.. lol.. it's just a matter of pricing wise..

That was what my mechanic quoted me for the original front and back sprockets and a DID "gold" chain.

 

But then your mechanic may have a better deal and can get for you at a lower price for the whole set of 3 items.

I guess posting here have its advantages. My wife checked my postings and ordered for me a bagster tank bra and a set of motul cleaning chemicals including chain lube. I'll continue to post my shopping list here and see how many will come true. Haha....

Yesterday morning, my coolant suddenly gush out from the rubber hose when the bike is at a stop. I visually cannot see any damage, cut or leak. An attempt to ride the bike to workshop failed as the temperature shot up to 116, showing high temp then goes further to blinking 125 then the engine light pops up in under 5 minutes. This proves that coolant plays a very big role. Ah Chong was shocked when I call him to tow my bike at Jurong. He still ask hot anywhere further or not. How there is not major issue here.

anyone has fz8n 2013? is it liquid cool or air cool? bec I saw the brochure at hong leong, it state it is air cool, i was quite shock such a big bike air cool, the salesman was not around I ask the technician there he dont know anything. but i check the spec online it is liquid cool. So i am quite confuse now

A visit to Ah Chong after the bike was towed back. He said the rubber hose broke and cheap cheap to replace. 1 hour later he called me, say cham lah, water pump spoil, this time big one. Collected my bike last night at 8pm, it's the water pump water seal that was damaged. In the end change the whole set as it does not come individually as claimed. Cost me $200, including tow service + repair + 1 headlight bulb. I used engine ice coolant as well so not bad for the price paid.

Hi fellow fazerians, I'm selling a used BMC filter, pretty decent condition too, realised only after I enthusiastically ripped a new filter out from its packaging and felt bad not to install it after the mech took all the pains to remove the filter that was in my bike. At bikeworkz, you can check with one of the mech, can't remember his name tho. Tall & thin one riding a DRZ.

 

Pics I'll upload in a while. It's been in the box for about a month plus now, I changed to ANOTHER SAME but new BMC filter.

 

Price: 25DOLLAS, reasonable? come with box and the BMC stickers and all that lol.

Bike getting old, seems to be be losing the sprite. Suspensions feels tired, steering less sharp...etc.

Or maybe is me.
