Bro, why not u download the service manual for details on that code 48 and rectification? If as per the Fz1, it's something to do with the throttle body sub throttle servo motor locked.

An error code 48 appeared when I turn off the engine while engine warning light pop up.. I did some reading it said got to do with electrical connection / wire harness

Hi,

I've got a pair of new racetech fork spring for gen 2 fazer fz1 for sale.

I received the incorrect model from online store.

Please PM for viewing and price.

Thanks!

Is Bikewerkz still a preferred shop to go for major servicing e.g. valve clearance? I'm intending to do valve clearance on my fz6 mileage 58,000km and i'm finding unique motors pricing steep based on previous occasions.

Should i bribe anyone here on the forum with some kopi-peng to accompany me down to bikewerkz to avoid getting chopped? haha.

Good afternoon people!

Im new to this thread. Just ordered a fz1n yesterday, cant wait to collect it next week! However i have some newbike questions..

I sincerely hope you did not scrimped on that few hundred and bought a non-ABS version. That few hundred is the best $$$ you will ever spend.

1) how do you veterans break in the bike when first got it?

It is listed inside the manual. Something like less than 6000rpm for the 1st 1000km and less than 7200rpm up til the 1600km mark.

Which is not a problem if you ride in Singapore, as the average rpm on highway is about 4000rpm going at 100km/hr.

You should vary the rpm up and down when riding by shifting the gears up and down a notch.

If you are moving up from a lower cc, don't worry about the engine heat. It's normal.

I remembered mine was like 105 Celcius on normal roads, and about 90 Celcius on highways.

It will run abit hot during run in, which is normal.

After run in, the temp should be lower slightly by 5 Celcius maybe.

There is this talk of hard break in, but I never bought that. Just go by the recommended method in the manual. My bike is 4 years odd and serving me well still.

Remember to change your engine oil at the 1000km mark and 3000km mark. I used mineral oil for both, if I remembered correctly. At the 5000km mark, i switch to fully synthetic.

2) any common problems to look out for?

No. It's a good and reliable bike. Just remember the tyres are new. Get used to the handling at the carpark/ surrounding areas before heading out. Remember to take a few photos first. :)

3) aftermarket horns that is legal to recommend..

I am using the Stebel horns, which model i forgot. You should be able to get it less than $50 installed at the shops. Probably way cheaper, but I forgot the price already.

It is a million times better than the joke that was the standard horn which sounds a flattened rat.

Any input will be greatly appreciated. Cheers!

I recommend you to install the L-Valve. I bought mine at Unique motors and it's called Bridgeport. Google it.

Makes pumping tyres very, very easy. Another $50 or so well spent.

Might as well install a voltmeter too while you are there. :)

I also installed some crash protectors at the front and back. Some guys opt for metal crash bars. Depends on individual.

The average fuel consumption is probably about 16km/litre.

One word of advice is that you should never, never use non official oil filter. Always check the shop is using original Yamaha oil filter.

Unofficial ones may not be able to absorb the impurities and end up damaging the engine.

Thanks for all the input guys! :)

However now i have a issue here. At this shop that i order from told me i could collect the bike by this week. But now they told me i have to wait till at least on the 20th! Is it normal for such a delay for litre bikes?

What they told me was that shipment got delayed. Is something fishy over here? Im really anxious to get my hands on my new ride :(

Salesman over commit perhaps? Sometimes too enthusiastic to close sales without checking stock availability

Usually first check is battery. Press and hold starter, bike don't start, got any error code or screen blank or just won't fire up?
