The new fz1 uses the 04r1 engine , so the heat problem still persists on tis model . Anyway , mileage of 240-250 km is the usual 04-0R1 mileage standard . So i think yamaha practically juz made minor tuning to the engine .

 

Tis made me hesitate in getting the new fz1 . :sweat:

The new FZ1 uses the '05 R1 Engine (not the '04 ) & R1's close-ratio six-speed gearbox .Significant changes are the additional BHP about 8 more horses with equivalent torque. The lower mileage is because of the smaller tank ( 18L compared to the 21L for the previous generation models). The Yammy Engineers had to sacrifice something for the sportier lighter look.

 

As for the heat issue , believe all naked superbikes got this one . FZ1 was originally marketed for the temperate countries and the heat issue is not a production fault or oversight.
