hi bro, there's a guy called retro7 letting go his rd350b in the classified section. his pricing is reasonable, so do check it out. as for the rd 500s u saw at racewerkz, they belong to a customer and i don't think he is selling any time soon. they are part of his personal collection. most of us know who he is by now.

I asked about this person and he is quite popular with people who are looking for the older bikes. I found out that the bikes put up for sale by this Retro7, are in fact not his. He appears to be a dealer, selling on behalf of the owners, for a comission. I would prefer to work directly with the owners personally, but as we do not know who they are, it's very slow going. I will keep looking I guess..........

I agree with you about getting direct from owner's. i feel that the owner's are usually more honest about the condition of the bikes as they usually like

selling this old ladies to a person who will appreciate it and not for a quick profit. As for the dealer u were mentioning, i suspect he is a cook at a well

known hotel that moonlights selling these bikes for a profit. but i may be wrong.

good day bro, first of all, micron stopped producing 2 stroke pipes long time ago. secondly, i don't think anyone wants to sell it here as long as they are riding the bikes to go with it. it's like rare commodity down here. are u from the other side of the causeway? u could try evil bay. they have these pipes for sale from time to time. but it ain't cheap bro!

Hey thanks for the well wishes Rzboy. The forum is not a place to mention names, and this should continue as far as I am concerned, as people are entitled to their privacy. But I have no issue with using a nic. Since my last post I have been asking around and it is now confirm that this retro7 is a dealer and yes, he is making money.

 

There are so few old bikes left around so people are willing to pay him I guess. A while ago he had a 1000cc Kawa and a red RD350B for sale, not sure if he is able to sell them or not, but buyer beware.

Dont mind bro if you are looking for other than Micron my friend do have an Arrow and All Speed meant for this bikes.As for Micron he do has one set but this is the type that comes on right side of the bike similar to AP 250.

You are 100% correct about this shop "Sin Boon". I also saw this ëarly RD parked out back but I was told by the balding shop owner that is was actually a 250........ and NOT for sale. I asked about 2 months ago! He would only say that the bike was part of his "collection" and would never sell it. Yes, many parts were missing so he must be selling the parts off at a high price, but not the entire bike in one go. I think this is a 1973 model........ may be a 74 at most.

 

A word to the wise, he also has a RD350LC there but it needs a lot of work. The meters are TZM150 and the COE is less than 1 year more. He told me the bike price is $2500!!!!! The COE now is about $1500 if not more for an old bike..... how to buy like that? These people are just too much!

 

I am looking for the older RD350B or even better the RZ or RD500LC ( a dream bike of mine), any idea where I can find one? I have not seen any on the road in a decade or more, but word around town is that a bike shop in Alexandra called Raceworkz has 2 of them!!

 

Any leads of info you can provide with regards to the 500 V4 2-Stroke will be sincerely appreciated.

but there were some conditions attached which i will not disclose.

 

i am actually meeting him in an hour to touch up the bike. I havent decided when i am going to put it on the road yet thou.

will do bro. how long u took for the rebuild? was riding the YPVS the past 4 yrs. laid it up again for further repairs. u know these bikes, one small thing will always lead to another. decided not to take a chance and incur expensive repairs down the road. i'm getting all the parts first.

Wokey.the rebuild took about total six months plus but I did not spend the total time on this bike.It was more like during my free time only I rebuild this.As you know this is just a hobby during our free time.

cheers to u bro. looking forward to seeing one in motion. the last i saw one on the road was back in 94. me and my friend were drunk riding one weekend nite and we came across one at bukit batok towards jurong east. we rammed at him and he gave us a wonderful cloud of blue haze till the next junction. we were young, drunk and oblivious to the 4 exhausts on the bike!!! we couldn't figure out wat bike that was and ended up getting more wasted at the jurong east 7/11 arguing abt it!!! some bike bro!

I will not deny you your point of view obviously. I feel that dealers such as this mark up the price of the old bikes to such an extent that it becomes impossible to own one of these old Japanese classics. I find this to be such a shame.

He is actually a frens fren kinda thing....and wen i was with me fren, we met up with him.
