Hello fellow riders,

I had always been reading trips reports from you guys, from Yempaul, from Tabernacle and many more tips from all. So just 2weeks ago I ventured out for my first Solo trip ride to Thailand, not just to Hatyai but to Chiang Rai, Northern Thailand. Many of my frens (riders and non-riders) said im crazy to go solo,or why not i join other groups or wait for the other kakis.....Well.... I tink most solo riders kena fly aeroplane before.....LOL so i cant keep delaying the trip so why not just try for solo? if dont do now then do when...So **** it, Juz Ride. This trip report maybe abit boring...1st time write trip report so give chance ok? :cheeky: everything must have 1st time mah....

Day 1

Plan to reach hatyai before noon. Took off from GP @1230hrs together with Datok (Vincent) and gang (they are heading to KL) after sent off by Brandnew and his GF, and my buddy. Speed was 140-150km/h. Not used to such speed with full load. Bike started weaving. slowed down to 130 instead for better control. stop at Ayer Keroh for petrol and found out i didnt balance the panniers (noob la paiseh). Vincent also point out my bike weaving badly could be unbalance panniers the main issue. took out the stuffs and rearrange and problems solved. Continue journey till Exit 214 where the rest stop at chevron marking to send me off. Thanks Datok and gang for the ride. Now its really SOLO.

Uneventful ride till Sadao @1030hrs,settled customs for bike and bought insurance and thai sim card just after border crossing. shoot off to Hatyai town in abt 40mins. Went to sticker shop near Florida Hotel, have lunch at nearby chinese stall, collect stickers and went hotel-hunting.

went to fav "Golden Crown" : FULL. check nearby New Seasons: FULL. nearby guesthouses: FULL. HONG~GAN. stop for a cold drink and hunt again. Finally found stay at Haadyai Green View Hotel. Nice Room and everything. Just wan to ****ing rest for the day.........jalan jalan @ lee gardens and dinner at roadside stall. Back to hotel and rest for tomorrow's ride up.

Great to have you back safe and sound. yeh , you are right. while its true why wait to do the ride up north if not now, it is good to read that no uneventful situation came up. while the experience is great, I always believe going on bikes, it is always better if we have a buddy to tag along. anyway more write-up please for us old timers who cannot take the strain of riding that far.

PS, hope you still have more leave incase of travel bug catch again

rest of trip up to HuaHin is uneventful... just topup and rest along the way due to the hot weather. traffic was fine other than one Red Hummer that near sideswiped me without checking. thenthe famous Hua Hin Chicken:

Meet gf + go riding = don't go well together.

You'll get stuck and goodbyes are super emotional.

*btw, Fatt you went to the correct temple in Philok. So clever :)

The only reason why I'm not laughing with you is that I prefer laughing at you.
