Its a Roadwin R. CKA mention it will be here in a few months time... Good bike with digital meter and water cooled engine... Its another level of its own.

My roadwin wishlist..

1) I also want a 200CC roadwin..

2) I also want a racing carb.

3) I also want another pipe. I think i'll fix a Yoshi..

4) And I want a new set of tyres.

 

Raining these 2 days, and when the bike goes over those arrows and anything that is not black on the road (arrows, lines, yellow box, zebra crossing, the special red tiles near schools) i start to lose grip.

 

Any brands to suggest? Metzellers eh? Anyone letting go? 140/70 would be nice.

Yoshi no bracket for Roadwin. I also called the agent and checked.

 

Wheel very important... Must change first... BTW..go hollow Pipe, with fiber installation..Sounds just like the arrow pipe. I kinda regret ordering the mori pipe cos now i love the modified pipe sound.

there are two version of Roadwin

 

X5 Version: 140CC

Vj125: 125CC

 

the new version are all 140 though can get 125 if u request.

 

Price for a 2nd hand RW... haven seen anyone in forum selling a FBA plate RW. Suggest u go shop look.. about 5K odd bar...

Hi Guan.. Nice to know that u're keen to get a roadwin..

 

I'll come clean.

 

A 2nd hand roadwin (2006 model) which should be a 150cc (actually its a 140.2 cc) would set you back anything in the range of $2k-$2.5k excluding insurance and transfer fees etc, if you get it here in the forum, or thru pte sellers. Depending on condition, it may even go as high as 3k.

You can try asking Raden, if he's still selling. Or you can surf around the Used bike sale section of the forum.

 

If you buy at the shop be prepared to pay around 4-5k for the bike on the road.. It may not be a 150cc, but the plus point is that the shop usually gives you a warranty for the parts etc. So even if you need to replace anything beloning to the engine, it is still under warranty, and u might jsut get it for free. =)

 

If you haven't rode on a Roadwin before, you should meet up with us friendly owners to give it a try (tho i dun recommnd SPace's bike cos its a Roadwin with steriods). Your pillion will enjoy the ride as much as you do. Trust me.

 

Before you confirm plus chop want the roadwin, let us tell you (so u know) that this bike is NOT meant for speed. It just has great looks, and nothing much else. if you want a 2b bike that can go 160kmh, 2-strokers sports bikes are the way to go. if you want a commuter bike with a HUGE tank, then pick the roadwin. At the right settings, 450km on a full tank is not impossible.

 

If you havent already done so, read thru the forum from page 1. There're enuff stuff in here to keep u reading for many days on understanding the bike. But honestly, even tho the bike has ben around for many years (4 years perhaps..) no one has truly understood the bike inside out. We're still learning and so are the mechanics who serve us. but the plus point are friendly forummers like us who can answer to even the simplest query. (rather than scream at you to read back to this page and that page for the answers).

 

So.. whenever you feel like it, come meet us, we'll let you ride our bikes, which we ride with pride, honour and satisfaction.

ur mods are all outstanding!! u seriously make my me more open to crazy mods!!! omfg!!!! u r god!!! haha.

 

u mentioned abt the vibration coming in at 80km/h already? my ride's vibration (the real big vibration) comes at abt 7.5k rpm at gear 5. other gears are okay. at 7.5k rpm at gear 5, i'm doing about 95. does tat mean a downgrade?

I guess Larger Piston = more obvious vibration at all speed. I'm still ok with the vibration.. haven hit top speed to see how much is the vibration. will let u guys know when the run in is finish.

 

the farings are new... he sold me at 380. usual price 480. and painting @ 290. cos of all the mods.. he give special. Yea.. its at CKA.

What I'm still lacking is a Racing CDI for Roadwin. I know someone in this forum had installed that before... back in 2005.... The mech mentioned that our CDI is slightly different as we have 2 more grounding wires than the Orginal Daelim CDI.

went down to kaki bukit cka today n they very busy, only roy n new mech r there.

 

wanted to ask roy about the cdi n he beliefly say it is a modified stock cdi for racing pipe like moriwaki or racing header with emptied muffler.

anyway did not have a chance to clarify with roy or test the mod cdi.

i thought they r using those scramblers aftermarket cdi like msd, hi-rpm, rev box or vortex.

CKA BB say they have no idea... infact.. one of the mech was so interested he was willing to give me one CDI and wiring system to go find out..hahah

 

Uncle Soh suggesting i look up for Roy in CKA HQ?

 

I've also approached the red bull CMO ... he said he no time to do the programming.. but what intersting is why most CDI only have 6 wiring while Roadwin has 8?

 

Oh ya.. the Vortex CDI cost US $350 on Ebay. Sianz...

 

But it helps to get the timing right... I dun mind spending...

Hmm... I was looking up on how to certify the Moriwaki Pipe.. Funny... First must install.. than go inspect... (haha.. wait along the way kena TP how? ) There is the Moriwaki Pipes for Super 4.. so I hoping that Since that is Street legal, approving the Moriwaki Pipe for Roadwin would be less problematic.. I dun mind spending few hundred more to settle the pipe.. better than kena fine $700.

 

I'm more worried is how to make it pass the test... haha
