Hello.

I sat and searched for the exhaust system to roadwin, so a friend showed me a video of a TK exhaust system. I was in love with sound.

Anybody know who sells them? (Web site?)

Is it the same sound in real life as the movie?

Does anyone have an exhaust system like that? and what you think about it in this case?

Movie:

Thanks for the reply.

Hi all,

My bike also have the starting problem. Ite Daelim RW 2004 . Can anyone one help on this? I know there are lot in info related to this in SBF, just want helps to provide me the link to those also would be very helful.

I am new 2B bike rider so not much aware to Daelim. Hope I am not making any mistake while starting.

I can hear the cranking sound, but just the bike doesnt start all the time. Some times it starts, some times not. I checked all the related issues. all are fine. Fuel half tank.

Today even tried to push start with 2nd gear. but it just doesnt work.

I am really in need of help. I am staying at Bedok.

did u pull the choke? on the left side under the tank, theres a mechanism that allows fuel to flow into the engine. mine was loose and flew off while riding on expway. went to cka to replace.

where did u get ur bike from? CKA? or forum?

racing in traffic...

to all newbies, those whom have problems starting engine.

pls read rw owner's manual page 27 - 'when engine is hot (summer)'.

dun use choke to start engine, 'when engine is cold (winter)'.

'winter' means climate below 10 deg C.

http://www.daelimmotor.com/eng/pdf/owner_roadwin.PDF

difficulty with starting engine can be:

1) idle rpm too low, should be at 1.5k rpm +-100.

2) stock carb setup is too lean.

3) improperly tuned carb (too rich), examples backfire, quick-throttle release 'POP'.

my recommended carb setting, depends on jet-needle clip positions:

stock default clip position is in slot#2, pilot(air)-screw is set at 2.125 or 2 1/8 turns.

pilot(air)-screw setting means turn the screw all the way in (do not over tighten, otherwise the screw tip will break), then loosen out by 2.5 or 2 1/2 turns.

range for pilot(air)-screw is 0.5 to 2.5 turns (by default, most pilot(air)-screw is set at 1.5 turns).

any less or more than the range, slow-jet will need to be replace with next smaller or bigger sizes.

for easy engine startup, clip in slot#2 (default), set pilot(air)-screw at 2.5 or 2 1/2 turns.

for better ride, set clip in slot#3, set pilot(air)-screw at 2.375 or 2 3/8 turns.

for power, set clip in slot#4, set pilot(air)-screw at 2.25 or 2 1/4 turns.

these settings r for stock carb only, needless to say, fc will be higher.

if u r not sure how set it, pls go to cka for help n tell them to set as above recommended settings.

if ur carb is already as above settings then there's really something wrong with ur engine.

pls seek cka for advise.

hello all, I'm new here, riding a RW since 2009.

I'm from Austria far away from the most of you ;)

@stsoh: can you explain to me how to chance the carb settings, what is the best setting for me ? I changed the spocket to 15/42.. I can reach 120km/h (Speedometer Value) but only if i go downhill, but the settings is nicer for less vibrations...

I have a Takkoni ESD installed and since that time i have a lot of "bangs" when i shift down, what could be the problem ?

Thanks and greetings from Vienna Austria !

hi moz@roadwin, welcome to sbf.

carburetor settings depends on altitude n climate temperature.

the settings recommended by me r based on sea level n climate temperature 26~33 deg C.

i believe where u live is totally different from singapore.

where u live r cold climate n high altitude, your carb setting will be different from my setting.

it me took a long time doing trial tests with different main-jet 95,98,102,105,108.

came to a conclusion the best configuration for my rw carb setting:

main-jet#102, slow-jet#40, jet-needle clip at slot#3 n pilot(air)-screw set at 1.25 (1 1/4) turns.

you should do trial test with different jets to suit where u r located.

lots of bangs (pops) means backfires or quick-release throttle POPs.

it simply means your carb setting is rich, try tighten pilot-screw by 1/8 turn until no POPs.

if u r unsure of what to do, pls consult your local mech.

hey, the problem got even worse. my engine wldn't even budge. the batt dead alr. push start still teh same. lucky got one uncle helped me checked my batt, he was saying smth abt the voltage too low alr, 11.36V. then he help me charge up using his car batt then kinda okay alr for now. but how is this possible? i saw the mech open a new box for the batt leh change for me. any idea?

stator coil should be producing 12.5 (+-0.5) volts @ 5,000 rpm, in order to charge battery.

go to cka n ask them to check stator coil, even new battery needs sufficient voltage to charge up.

hey, went to cka yesterday. found out my sparkplug was fused ar. kena charge 10bucks for it.

but then, the same problem still persist. difficult to start. the mech changed the stator coil for me and even charged my batt. they did the servicing for like 3 hours. seems like everything was okay. can't find wad's the problem wif the slow start-up. :sian:

question: why did ur spark plug fused???

find out the reason n u may solve ur slow start problem.

here's couple of clues:

carb setup lean, engine will run hot. it get hotter when set very lean.

carb setup rich, engine will run cooler. it get sooted when run too rich.

another cause can be wrong heat range of spark plug was used.

always use recommended spark plug code by bike manufacturer stated in owner's manual.

many want to save fuel, setup carb too lean have many disadvantages than saving a few cents.

reasons dun setup carb too lean:

1) difficulty starting engine.

2) engine will runs very hot, some r extremely hot.

3) too hot will burnt a hole thru piston or fuse spark plug.

4) hot engine will cook engine oil n breaks down faster.

5) engine parts wear out faster due to engine oil breakdown.

6) rubber seals n plastics get brittle n lost it's functioning properties when overheated.

best is try tune to 14.7 part of air (wt) to 1 part of fuel (wt) mix ratio.

this is more difficult to do cause mechanical carb can't meter correctly thru out throttle range.

hey, i think that's the problem. cos my engine's been really hot lately. scares me sometimes. heh. so i'll just need to go cka to do the tuning?
