We seem to have the problem of belongings flying away. :giddy:

My pillion helmet which was "secured" using a helmet net flew away too. hope there wasn't any vehicle behind me then. would have made a hell of a bullet.... :sian:

i let fly a slipper before too, during some sloppy gearshifting. think i stopped and walked back to get it, but i can't remember clearly.. hmm it might even have happened more than once. ;p

anyway let's all try to be careful, and make sure things are tied down securely!

For my bike no OEM single sitter so have to get either thru aftermarket (biketech21), or custom mould (first motor). Urs is available OEM, just check with Guan Hoe, or better the main parts supplier. Eg mine is hong leong but i can get cheaper parts by going direct to the Yamaha parts supplier, which is Autocycle centre.

FYI its about 180 + and above

:giddy:

Ur hp also lost ah wahh :goodluck:

NUS is considering making bikers pay 65 cents per entry to use the bike lots.

You guys better discuss this; we have once chance to make a representation to them (they have invited us). I'm on reservist now, I leave you guys to organise yourselves. If we don't make this work, then you'll be paying a lot more for the use of your bike.

DISCUSS THIS IN THE OTHER FORUM! this thread gets hijacked often.

PS. 2 more peopel have been added to the other forum, if you have applied recently, just use the name and password use chose during sign up.

As you know, NUS is privatising next June. That means the govt "pang sare" NUS and is no longer subsidising NUS.

That means a lot of things that have been subsidised previously will have to charge fees to cover costs...

The entire parking system for cars and bikes is being revamped to cover such costs as maintainence, lighting etc.

Its not just cars and bikes, the free bus systemis also under review.

Not happy, please complain to your local MP... This one NUS kena thunderstike one, cannot blame anyone in NUS (or NTU, for that matter, which also kena thunderstrike- they will be charging for bike parking too).

whether u use the internal shuttle bus (ISB) , some call it idiotic sardine boxes... or u airborne to sch or walk to sch. all students pay $30, which is included inside the misc fees we pay without asking why. adn i believe some of us riding dun even smell the ISB once in a semester

this is diff from the new NTU pattern where they pay 12 or 18 bucks to use the services.

so strictly speaking the ISB service is not exactly free, as usual.......

JK and I have been told on a confidential basis the NUS costs for providing the Internal Shuttle bus. Trust us when we say that $30 per student only covers a fraction of it. In any case, it also goes to the library, and you guys use the wireless internet system or the library right?

Bottom line is this: The days of relatively-free education are over. The Universities in Singapore are going to be private by next year, and a whole new paradigm will take hold. Everything will have a fee attached to it. If you're not happy about it, there are alternatives to studying at NUS.

Right now, all academic departments are on a funds-for-performance basis, and if you aren't performing, out you go. Entire institutes and departments are at risk of being written off. In fact, I know of an entire SCHOOL that is under seige right now and has to justify its existence. If they don't make it the school will be subsumed under another faculty, and totally dissapear.

But then again, this is kinda like when I was studying overseas. You pay for everything, so its actually 'normal'.

look on the bright side, at least we dont have to pay 20c per toilet entry, or is that already included as part of the school fees. :giddy:
