Hey Wilson

What I meant was the Thermal wrap. The bandage looking thing on the header. It can contain the heat in the header and improve performance. Looking for a shop that does that. I'm more of a theory than Hands-on person.

Oh... haha... now I know which one. Will it cause the pipe to rust over time?

YES ! THIS IS THE ONE ! Bandage looking wrap. I think it's ok if you park your bike under shelter. If it rains then some water will trap in the wrap and cause rust. So if you are parking indoor , it shouldn't be a problem.

We can easily order this online , the problem is the installation. Tried calling Kruzers @ Kaki bukit but they don't do it.

Tried Motoworld , they sell it but not doing the installation.

It's not difficult to DIY if you know how to wrap rackets. The fibers will drop hence it's important to wear long sleeves for protection and be prepared to throw away the clothes after that. The spray will keep the wrap waterproof. 1" is easier to wrap around bends. 2" better for straights.

Hi Uncle

Yes , I saw the installation on Youtube. But for Nightrod , there is a black colour guard beside the header to make the header looks black. But the actually colour is chrome for the header. I'm afraid that after the wrappings , I won't be able to put the guard thingy back on. So I will need advise from you guys. :cheeky:

Personal experience. I heat wrapped my headers with the black heat wraps. The black faded with time and heat . The heat shields have no problems in fixing back onto the wrapped headers. My headers cracked under the immense heat trapped in the heat wrap and headers. When I went for my annual inspection in May, inspector failed my test as I got heat wrap on. Past years my inspection passed with the wrap on, now they are more strict. I removed the heat wrap, welded the cracked headers, and sprayed the headers with high temp black paint now.

Oh my. Then I think I should stay away from the heat wraps then. Inspection is on November. Despite the heat shields , the heat is still unbearable. Any other solutions for this ?

Yea I guess so. The heat is coming from both the Vtwin and the header. If I get the header wrapped , the left side is still hot. Must well have both my legs cooked right ?

I always go to STA or Viacom in sin ming. Used to not even bother to look much at my pipes. But now shine the torchlight everywhere, even under e heat shields. Then take pics n asked why got heat wrapped, why got 2 bolts at the o2 sensors. Last time my pythons even can passed.

Dear all bro/sis,

Anyone upgrade 883N to a 1200?

I read somewhere people do that when their 883 engine start leaking. Instead of just repair, they change it to 1200.

Would it be legal and also what is the cost?

Thank you in advance!

Hi Bro,

Anyone know where to re-wrap seat cover?

You can try Eugene Saddlery at Jalan Besar . Personalized service but must be prepared to wait. Do a search, should have several threads on this.

Always look on the bright side of life...:goodluck:

Hi there...

this is the k=best legal sounding pipe in SG IMO. So it's a choice you have to make..if you intend to keep the bike; go for it. If you change bike often; stay out.
