BTW Has anyone done a comparison on ur own for Minerva and Outside servicing?

Thing is I met Ismail just now and he was nice to explain to me about maintance and service neutrally in respect to "competitors". From his info the workmanship charge is rather similar to shops outside. I have yet to compare side by side. So with the higher price of parts but with 15% disc. Wouldn it be similar or maybe only a little more ex to go to minerva. This is to put in accord that Mechanic likes to take his time and I have to buy parts to bring over to him.

My 2 cents' worth as ex-Duke owner ...

Minerva charges according to a standard scale i.e. even if a slow mechanic takes 3 hours, you get billed for an hour if it is an hour's job by the scale. To me that is fair, cos' the labour is not dependant on the mechanic. I believe that labour is $50 an hour, and charges are allocated units like 0.2 hour, 0.5 hour etc and the total labour charges are added up. I used to service my bike exclusively at Minerva for 2 reasons: (a) they are the agents and (b) Duke require special tools for some jobs.

On the issue of the Termis, I've never installed them but I am amazed that they have never been taken to LTA for approval all these years considering the number of Dukes on the road. I mean, if I'm paying $$$ for Termis, the last thing I want is to dish out more $$$ fines for riding with them! I'll rather pay for the homologation process and get it legalised. Had anyone ever tried to clear Termis with the LTA?

Cheers

Mr coolcat,

so if the job took him 2 hrs, means other than the parts, the job would take him $100?

Not necessary. It will be $100 if the manual says the job concerned takes 2 hours to do. It doesn't matter if the job actually took 15 mins or 5 hours to do. It depends on what is the time-cost as stated in their manual. So if to change a handle bar is 0.5 hour, then even if they actually took an hour, it would be charged at 0.5 x $50 = $25, and not $50.

That was the practice about 2 years ago. And everthing nicely listed and broken down in the invoice. Lovely.

... and no need to call me Mr. CoolCat kekeke, I'm juz a regular joe. :cheeky:

Cheers

Actually, there are legal LTA approved Termis on the mkt.

There was a M400 at Racewerx with a new pair of CF and papers along with it.
