1.2K for 1 pair of Legal CF Termis sounds too good to be true

but why they quote for one when its obviously 2 unless all the exhaust are similar to other bikes. no particular model to specify... but still dun make sense cause the slip on diameter will vary right?

Seriously, when I buy products in Sim Lim, they give me prices w/o GST.

I wonder why. Do I look like a bloody tourist to them? Did I mention Im going to export what I buy?

BTW Has anyone done a comparison on ur own for Minerva and Outside servicing?

Thing is I met Ismail just now and he was nice to explain to me about maintance and service neutrally in respect to "competitors". From his info the workmanship charge is rather similar to shops outside. I have yet to compare side by side. So with the higher price of parts but with 15% disc. Wouldn it be similar or maybe only a little more ex to go to minerva. This is to put in accord that Mechanic likes to take his time and I have to buy parts to bring over to him.

yes 'regular joe'(coolcat) is accurate abt how minerva charges. but if it sheds any light, when i sent my previous m400 for full servicing, inclu change of brake+engine oil, spark plug, carb cleaning, everything la, plus change of both timing belts. the cost came up to abt $800. e workmanship charges alone i think made up 1/3 of it.

i thought it was worth it coz e monster felt totally as responsive as new and the best part? they barely took 1 1/2 days to finish e job. i sent in morning, e nxt day late afternoon they said can collect alre. nuttin beats efficiency. u can send yr bike to e nearby "competitor" shop for servicing too, definitely much cheaper(think maybe 20-30% cheaper?), but then u probably got to leave it for more than a few days... pros n cons.

kish_garfield: i was qouted 1.2k for CF termis 1 yr plus ago...one pair of coz. e diameter no difference, coz in e end i bought 2nd hand CF termis from a fellow forumer, and fitted onto my previous '03 model(e one w tachometer) M400. e forumer rode e pre-'02 model(e one w/o tachometer)....fitted like a glove.

fweddy: i also tot it was relatively affordable compared to other brands, i asked abt remus pipes b4(legal ones), was qouted 1.6k for a pair

I think there are many different models of termi around. Even if they are CF.

Of cos if there are legal Termi i think all of us would get it. But there are none that I know of. If not, i would have gotten my Termi to be approved, beats buying another one.

The nearby competitor shop charged me about 50% less than the $800 you will billed for. My service excluded brake pads and engine oil change. Took the guy about 2.5 days, which is about 1 day longer. I dont make $400 a day so I guessed it made sense for me to wait the extra 24hrs.

Where can I find 2nd hand Ducati M400 other than Garage Sales and Yahoo auctions?

I hope I don't get flamed for asking this,

I tried doing a search but too many results were displayed.

CMYRS: e full servicing included front+rear brake pads n 2 timing belts(cost $140 for 2...)..and changed quite alot of things, includ a new valve etc... but the brake pads alone both $100 coz it's OEM ducati brakes...if change at michael onli $20+ if not wrong but not OEM...so cost of parts also make up e difference... i'm not dissing e "competitor", i actualli was a loyal supporter of him ! juz tot i needed to clarify e price differences... :thumb:

Minerva's turnover is quite good because they do not want to keep bikes in their garage, risk of damage etc. This doesn't matter for people with 2 bikes.

On exhausts, my fren got a pair of high-mount Arrows from Shah at $1.6k.

Cheers

No worries mate, was just giving my own account of service at the nearby neighbourhood competitor.

This mechanic of choice thing is sometimes a sensitive issue.

Its like choice of your GP. Everyone has different opinions.

I would always like to listen to both sides of the story.

Minerva's mechanics and Mike are actually friends, not really competitors.

Not as fast as your next ride actually...

Though I think the HP output is almost the same, your torque will pull far far away...

Kindly provide more details on the unfortunate event?

Today, while I was at LTA, a Kips got escouted by ROV to get the exhaust checked. Not sure if the fine was on the spot. But the was definitely not pleased.
