1st gear max can drag until 40 I think, but I usually just go to 20, shift to 2nd liao.

On 14/43, my bike pulls cleanly from 50 to 140, then creeps to 160, sometimes 170. Now on 14/39 sprockets, still can pull from 50, but not as cleanly. Top speed seems to have dropped slightly too, even more so now that I've removed the termis.

Hehe... Should be yr 98 model. And its Red!!! Love it.

The gear is getting better but far from perfect...

The rear brake still screech.

Pick up ok but somehow hangs at 80km/h... Does monster come with "power cut"? Anyway to remove it?

Ya, Ride Safe!

hmm.. screech... gotta check ur brake calipers... get them bleeded...

or clr the brake dust...

if it does not helps.. check the brake pads..

if the pads haf alot impurities in it.. get it change or file it off...

btw.. dun tink m400 got power cut... not enuff power liaoz le... hee..:cheeky:

Whats your sprocket size?

On 14/43, my bike pulls nicely from 30-90 on 3rd gear. With 14/39, can drag to 80 on 2nd gear. But I wouldn't want to that do that often....

I find the engine runs best when reved through the midrange, where the intake induction roar starts to cresendo and the exhausts starts singing its desmo song. Beyond that, the engine starts to feel strained and screams for the next gear.

hmm.. one advice... its time to get a bigger monster for better roar...

cant imagine a monster 1000s wif a termin s/o.. woohoo.. blast the whole neighbourhood mann... haha..

btw.. minerva juz came in one white/black two tone S4R...

c if anyone keen to get it..

the monster 620 still on sale i believe... ard 1 yr...

So for now, make do with little Monster. Gotta sell it though, so that I can save up for a big Ducati. :D

need to check.

But from 30-90 on 3rd gear?! Not my duc...

Its more like this at comfortable pace, no dragging:

1st gear - 0-20

2nd gear - 20-40

3rd gear - 40-60

4th gear - 60-80

But I realise 3rd gear is the one that can really fly. Maybe its becos monster's high torque at low rpm?

Anyway, want to share this experience... When I mentioned to my friends and colleagues that I'm getting a duc monster, most will go wahhh!!!. When I'm on the road, I do notice the heads turning BUT some of them just want to rev high and go past me.

Well, what to do... its a duc monster!

well.. try a S4R or M1000S... n its u the one who is rev passin the others.. haa..

ever saw a S4R.. quiet n slient killer.... woohooo...dat was fast man... :lovestruck:

Remember the morning warm up, jade. So you managed to get good price for your Super4?

Cheers

Cat

Not red lah.... Still thinking of colour, hee.. Saw one duke PW duke with matt black, quite nice! :lovestruck:

Sure must warm up one, engine sounds so sluggish, like anytime may die like dat.

At start up, RPM is like less than 1000, so I held accelerator a bit bit to almost 1500. When RPM reaches 2000 at rest, I'll go off. When I get to work place, RPM is like 3000 at rest! Normal ah?

One thing I also noticed, accelerator not linear. Moving off must twist throttle more, machiam a bit retarded. However, when moving already, must control throttle more liao.

When I first got the duke, the chain was really loose, so went to some shop to get it tightened and lubed.

Sold my S4 at $3.9K when some ppl only offered $3.6K or less. Motordiam only offers $3.2K...Mileage quite high, so not asking for much lah. :cheeky:

besides Minvera, where else do you send the dukes for service?

Your mixture is alittle rich, thats why response is sluggish when cold, and thats why your rpm is so high when its fully warmed up! Try changing your spark plugs first. If it gets better for awhile, then goes back to the same pattern, then your baby needs a tuneup.

My bike is currently at Kallang Cycle, you can bring your duke there too. I think it needs alittle tune up. FW matt black? DId you happen to see the name below the plate? :D

Yea, we're invited to the launch this Thursday.

Anyway, if rolling on the trottle, the bike feels sluggish, and giving more trottle smoothens it out, then it might be running rich.

Carb needles might be worn out, common problem.
