u asked about the monster a couple of months ago. so, finally ready to get one? :) The 696 feels like a smallish bike (much like the M400 to me) so I would assume if you can handle the weight of the Super 4, you should be able to handle the 696, even if it is your first bike. dry weight of super 4 is about 168kg whereas the 696 is 163kg. with new owners, just need to be careful until u are used to it, err... u should be careful all the time.

 

 

hi i was hoping fellow M696 owners can share your thoughts abt the bike with me because i'm seriously considering buying it.

How much did it cost? what comes with the bike? and also i've read somewhere that the clutch and brake levers are kinda hard to reach esp for those with shorter hands (woman).. is tt true? thanks

yea just reg for my class2. umm since im a lady i guess a 700cc bike is powerful enuf for me, i def wont be getting the m1100.. haha

anyway, was just wondering if there was any problems wif e m696 at all, coz i read a forum in US few guys were saying the rear brake gives a horrible screaching sound..?

maybe they were travelling @ 200km/h and realisze that there was a wall in front?

or

maybe the stock brakes are of a lower quality?

or

there can be many other reasons

i only hear the sound when an accident is about to happen

check with dealer and hear what they say.

 

is it for all 696 in us?

I am quite sure you are getting "wrong" information about rear brake issue.

Don't worry about the rear brake. 90% of Italian rider "don't use" them at all.

 

You hafta learn to adapt that :-)
