generally front inflation the same cause we all share the same size.

rear will differ slightly depending on your tyre width for 400 to 900

nah uh... *shakes head. my manufacturer recommended pressures are 250kPa and 290kPa front and back. and you can go +10kPa more, safely if you do more expressway riding like me, to save fuel. the downside is your tyre squares off slightly faster..

Has this got LTA approval yet? A bit restricted as there are no charging points and kinda need a really long extension cord from the HDB apt to the MSCP.

http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking+News/Singapore/Story/STIStory_325954.html

according to their web site, they plan to have charging pts every 10km radius. there's also 1 scooter with a speed limit of 120km/h @ 13bhp

can send me to work and back for 5 days or home to BB twice.

I bought mine $1400++ inclu installation.. GPR no power..? Heard from where..? Doesn't mean its cheap means not good..!! I use GPR on my monster before.. sound and power...? Hell ya man...!! Its all up to the tuning and ur balls... lets say u buy other brands never tune properly also no use.. In Sngapore how fast u wanna go or how long can u maintain top speed..? MONSTER 400 only GPR LTA approved...!!

`tyre squares off slightly faster'

`manufacturer recommended pressures are 250kPa and 290kPa front and back'

i can only suspect that this is under max load.over inflating will bring grips lower than optimum required.

if you think abt it,class 2 bikes 32 front and 36 rear is a standard.

consider the ratio when we reduce the cc.this will mean that a gilera will go 300~350!

also consider our country's temp.

air expands futher when heated.......

tyre pressure stated by the manufacturer is only a suggestion.

its not a hard and fast rule, just a guideline.

u should set your tyre pressure according to riding style and body weight.

with n w/o pillion also makes a difference.

another thing to consider is that

if one rides really hard, yr tyre pressure easily goes up inexcess of 5psi.

so yr recommended 32 front, 36 rear ends up to be about 37 front, 41 rear.

i guess most of us are looking for maximum grip, not durability.

with a contact patch the width of your palm, its the only contact points between u and the road. use it wisely :)

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

Called up Kallang Cycle today to ask if they have any used M400 for sale, and they said got one in so-so condition, FQ plate selling for $5,800...Too expensive?

The pillion seat is not as comfortable as a phantom seat. Could be smaller than a super four's seat. Riding position is definitely more aggressive, leaning/sloping forward a bit. Why not test the seat instead?

As for the price of the FQ bike, it depends on the condition as the price can vary from $3k as seen in garage sale now to 8.5k, just sold last month. It depends on if coe is renewed at 1k, then you have to factor in this cost. If the tank and frame is good paint then you save about $500 to redo. If got aftermarket pipes (legal GPRs) you save $1350. If got twin disc brakes and upgraded pump, (then you save >$500 - 700). If got overhauled engine, the you save near $1.5k - $2k. If you have seat cowl, you save $200. If you have oil cooler installed, then you save $300. If you have front cowl and windscreen, you save another $200 or more. If the tires are new, you save $330. If the sprocket is AFAM then you save $195 for rear and $55 for front. And then there is the cost of the bike as well. So you factor in all these... you can see why some bikes are worth more than others. You spend more to enjoy the bike out of the workshop and out on twisty roads more. It is not that Ducati owners are unreasonable in their asking price just by looking at the price itself. The condition matters. If the bike is in crap shape and he is asking for $8k then you know what to do. :) Most owners of good condition Ducatis will only sell it to people they trust to maintain and service the bike diligently. Most on this thread have spent more money than the cost of many 2A bikes to get the ideal monster. The love for the monster is immeasurable and only the rider will know the pricelessness. Others can only talk about it being expensive and unreliable and high maintenance. :thumb:

When it comes to bikes, I only see red…

Wow, thanks for the detailed response! :thumb: I'm gonna write down some of the prices and things you mentioned. My first ride was a Phantom, which although I enjoyed, found the riding position too laid back. Been thinking, dreaming, and lusting over a Monster for a long time already. Love the looks, the sound, and everything about the bike! Been reading this thread, and can really tell the passion that you guys have for your Monster, and care that needs to go into the bike. Really hoping to find the right Monster for myself, and join you guys soon :)

GPR so ex? Just the endcan only? Thought its just few hundred

Take Honda Super 4 for example it only have one end can & it already cost $600 to $700++ depending on brands... Monster have two pipes...!! So its x2 the price.. GPR cost $1400++ carbon ones inclu installation & tuning. I got mine @ kallang Cycle.. Titanium ones cheaper.. other brands worse.. I enquirer before Mivv and Blue flame exhaust.. its cost $1800+++ and worse thing of all its not legal.. GPR $1400++ LTA approved... Well its still a little ex but no choice.. LTA approve thats y.. Illegal ones as in not LTA approve $$ a lot cheaper usually depending on brands..
