Went to Minerva last Sat but they can't entertain me so I took my duke to Michael. Left my bike there and got it back today.

Paid $80 for some servicing work.

Still not at its best but is feeling better than before. But from what Michael tells me, I realised I had gotten a not-so-good deal... Will have to fork out $1k for a proper repair.

Things like valve guide, clutch plate, ignition something (din catch what he said), etc... workmanship will costs $400.

Wonder if the price is reasonable. o_O

Oh btw, I went to Minerva showroom too. Sat on the S2R. The seat is higher and more comfortable. Saw a dark 998 for FS-plate sitting there. So if anyone is interested...

Anyway saw an advert on last fri's classified ads - Red Monster 400 for sale at $3700. FQ plate.

Custom Monster S4 for sale, alot of custom and performance parts! :thumb:

Posted

25k for an S4? You gotta be kidding...

With all those custom parts, its going for about 40k at least.

A 999 single seat cowl costs A$1200. To change the fairing bolts to quick release (Biposto version comes with allen keys, monoposto versions come with quick release) costs $8 each, need 12...

Ouch.... $$$$$$$$$

And I saw this nice Arai Crossair helmet with Ducati Design, damn nice, $1200+.... And a very nice Ducati summer jacket, $600. Just as I was thinking of selling my house, a nice gentleman came out of the changing room wearing $2500 worth of brand new Ducati Dainese leather...

Afterwords, I met a guy who brought his Supersport 1000DS to the workshop. He used to own a Hayabusa, until he bought this Supersport. He has since sold his Hayabusa, saying nothing beats the Ducati in the twisties. His friends on sportbikes also cannot keep up with him. He is gonna upgrade to a 998.

A real Ducati lover! :thumb:

Wahh A$40k? S$52k or more( since sg duke usually cost more)????? Hard for me to believe.....so wats the true real price of that......@#$%@#beast?

Posted

An S4 will sell for around 28k if I'm not wrong, cos its an old model.

Prices for Dukes in Singapore are inflated significantly. For example, a brand new 749dark sells for 20k here. Back in SG I was quoted 32k...

was quoted 23k sgd for the last yellow s4.. any takerz???

916 cc Superbike engine: the liquid-cooled Desmoquattro fuel-injected L-twin derived directly from World Superbike champion race bikes. With muscle to spare, the S4 engine delivers tractable power and torque over the widest rpm range, so that you're "on the gas sooner" and shifting less. 100+ horsepower combined with the S4's light weight of 193 kg/423 lbs results in an inspiring power-to-weight ratio. The light-weight Superbike-derived trellis frame ensures confidence in turns. The suspension specifically developed for the Monster family features fully-adjustable front forks and rear shock.

A wide 180/55 ZR 17 rear tyre and a 120/70 ZR 17 front are mounted on super light Marchesini five spoke wheels
